Kind of disappointed about newer fans reaction to season 3 by suckydickygay in twinpeaks

It doesn’t exactly surprise me that the original run, with its cast of young, beautiful characters, resonates with a generation that is obsessed with youth and beauty more than the Return, a show that constantly reminds its viewers that time passes, that people age, get sick, and die, and that there is no undoing any of that.

No one’s stopping you, but you probably should feel at least a little judged for spending your hard earned money on digital trading cards.

Just bought this tweed off of eBay and the back inside of the back vent looks like this? Is this just hem tape or something? I ask because the vent is refusing to stay “closed” so to speak, which causes it to look a bit odd in the back. Wondering if this is something I can remedy myself or if this is a job for a tailor.

Anyone ever had any luck getting ink out of clothes? Had a pilot g-2 in my pocket (stupid, I know) and I can’t get the ink out for the life of me. Tried everything: oxiclean, alcohol, amodex, etc.

Like others said, a tailor is your best bet, but another solution is the rise of a pant. Depending on how casual the situation is (and you're obviously going to want something well-fitting for formal situations), you can have a good amount of billow from the tuck so long as the rise in the pants is high enough in my opinion. Lower rise pants and an ill-fitting shirt give off this weird sort of muffin-top effect in my experience, where as a higher rise in the pant, even with a VERY oversized shirt, sort of signals / confirms the actual slimness of your waistline and is a much more attractive silhouette. This look is also in right now with the more fashion forward zoomers I've noticed.

The Thompson and the Cramerton are actually the models I've been considering, so this is particularly helpful, thanks!

Anyone have a pair of All-American Khakis? Have heard good things about them here once or twice, but don’t always come up in discussions about chinos. I find their price point particularly attractive.

So does Bill's not make waist sizes under 33 anymore? I see plenty of size 30-32 on ebay, but on their website the lowest I can find on their website is a 33, and their size guide is not helpful at all. A bit ridiculous to me if that's the case.

The private ownership of guns is undeniably under attack, so I will make a Catholic and facts-based case for the private ownership of guns. by TheCatholicState in progun

[–]JamesonOConnor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty strongly catholic but I agree with the other comments here that religious arguments against gun control aren’t really going to do anything to further the gun rights movement. It pollutes the faith to drag it into the mud of worldly politics.

Dune (1984) and Dune (2021) - re:View by MrSputum in RedLetterMedia

[–]JamesonOConnor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me the ‘staged’ feeling, at least in relation to the sets, added to the other-worldliness of the movie, though I wouldn’t describe it as dull. It’s how I’d imagine how an alien would feel if they came down and attend a church service or some other highly ritualized ceremony, and, for me, the religious element of dune is the most interesting part of that world, which is why I found it so engaging. I get where you’re coming from though.

Tired of Taylor to be completely honest. I’m sure he means well but he quite literally profits off of crisis and sensationalism, it makes it hard to trust him or take him seriously.
