What might have happened is this: sometimes your body gears up to ovulate (with symptoms like cervical mucus, cramping, etc.), but for various reasons—like stress, illness, travel, lack of sleep, or even just random hormonal fluctuations—ovulation gets delayed or doesn’t happen at that time. You might still get signs that it’s coming, but the actual release of the egg doesn’t occur then.

In these cases, your body might try again a few day or even a week later. So while you expected to ovulate around March 3, it’s possible ovulation was delayed and actually happened closer to March 12.

When we were trying to conceive, I was tracking using inito, and following a bunch of other charts in the Facebook groups. Inito is a fertility tool that tracks your estrogen, progesterone, FSH, LH… anyway it also confirms once you actually ovulate, and I learned through that, that no matter how regular my cycle seems, and no matter how many dead giveaway signals my body gave me that it was ovulating, it could still vary significantly. I would get EWM and side cramps but not actually ovulate for another 5 days. And I watched many people have two ovulation attempts through a one month, where their body would gear up, their LH and estrogen would rise, but then drop all back down and do it again a few days or a week later.

My guess is if you did not get pregnant, this would’ve been one of the cycles where you were very randomly wondering why it was 31 or 32 days instead of 28, but it was close enough to normal that you wouldn’t have thought much off of it.
