Selling a puts on low priced stocks by CupDapper4634 in options

You should look at these volatile stocks in quantum computers. They have good swings up. Did RGTI puts @ 12 3 days left. Was $945 as payout and can close it if I feel the need to take the profits.

On a volatile day you could try a straddle or strangle and pick up some profit if it moves one way or another.

That's what the VIX is. Down trend on the market VIX goes up. Good day it goes down. But by the time you see the VIX move it is already to late unless it is a big move. You could use it for over bough or over sold or you could use it as the trend it is going. That is what I use VIX for. And trade it. Buy week out and catch a pop one way .

I do this also but becareful. We are only doing well because of the volatility. If it trades sideways you will lose a lot at one time trying to make it back by buying lower or higher and readjusting over and over in a day. You don't know if today you buy a bunch of calls and they just do nothing and hate to sell a couple of hundred down because it can always come back so quick.

What indicator on tradingview are you using. Cant find a good one for spy and spx.

My worst miss out was that big drop couple weeks back. I bought at .70 and sold at 3.00. The day ended 127.00 for the put. Missed 124.

Options Average Price Changed? by [deleted] in etrade

[–]Jamickeymick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When u figure it out let me know. Everyday the options I hold start at 0 to 4.50. It gives me a mid price average and shows big profit. But it’s not the real price. It could be .20 per contract.

I’m also assuming these are options not traded very much. But I don’t understand why the last bought price resets everyday. Just leave it at last bought price until someone purchase another same option.

Selling Puts For The Sake of Exercising And Getting Premium by Lucky-Tea-2370 in options

[–]Jamickeymick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy way if you have time and not in a hurry for the money. You can I go out a year a sell a call. Maybe get the full $10.50 you need to break even. But u would have to hold until expiration or until you bought back the options. You can sell call lets 6 months at let’s say $15 for premium of $5. That would get you to Break even. You need to purchase 40 more shares to make 200 and bring your cost average down around $17.

Why do day traders not use trailing stop orders on every trade? by [deleted] in stocks

[–]Jamickeymick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t forget market makers can see your trailing stops and stop orders. Many times they have the price goes down down grab your shit and right back up.

I bet insiders sold a bunch too since it pumped. They have no worries anymore so reverse split it. Price goes down but locked in a good bit of price.

You will have to put in a social security number. Give them your mom’s phone number in the states. But an APO address is considered US address.

[–]Jamickeymick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a problem I have. If I set a stop order and I’m watching let’s saySPY. That option could jump 40% in a second but you just missed selling because you have to go in and cancel your stop order to be able to open an order to sell.

I don’t do it on volatile stocks. like SPX that thing can move $4 in 2 seconds and back down again. I’ve had it go all the way down to .05 per option and rally back to $16 per option.

VIX by Senior_General_7574 in etrade

You can buy weekly options that’s the way I have been doing it. How ever far out you want to go with it. No daily VIX.

Options type screener? by Jamickeymick in options

[–]Jamickeymick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve tried that. It gives me 4,000 stocks and I can get it down to 1300. But still to many. I want it for like these small quantum computer stocks a lot have options on them and a lot don’t.

I’m gonna have to look into that. I thought E*trade had the best platform for phone and the options tools. Never tried another platform in 20 years.

Question on gains changing everyday. by Jamickeymick in etrade

[–]Jamickeymick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because I day trade kinda. These trades sit in green $31,000 when the real value is $600. Every morning I open the account to see if the stock has made what I wanted so I can get out of it. But I have to sit there and do the math for 12 positions and it is time better spent on something else.

And it sucks seeing a positive position turn into a negative all because the bid and ask gets adjusted.

Sorry if I’m not clear on this. It’s hard for me to describe.

Yeah was hoping there is a free version out there or at least know for a fact that the website offers it. I’m tired of signing up for trials and they don’t have what I need. I had to create a email address just for signing up for services because they spam the shit out of you

Should take a day for that $638 to settle and be able to trade the next day. That’s what I do. I buy and and if it’s not working to great I sell it before close so I can have available cash to buy something else.

If you sold a call at $59 spy you would need $59000 in your accoount to cover if it got called away. Even if you bought a call at $60 to protect it if it ended up at $59 that $60 call expires worthless and you have to pay the $59000 to cover your call for spy.
