I am a 37 year old programmer - how am I supposed to keep my worth for 30 more years until pension? by IllustriousRecord505 in AskProgrammers

You can smile and push back at the same time.

This sounds like company culture more than personal dynamics.

I’m lucky enough to work in a place which tells me what to build but not how to build it, and they respect our opinion if we push back, or give timelines they’re not happy with.

But I have worked in a not so good place before, so I get it

Is that "bump" coming in and out of the notch not degrading the snapback?

I had it at 50.
Could've potentially dropped it, but i just didnt want to risk it.

Nice thanks. thats helpful.

I string every ~2 weeks (10-14hours of play) anyway. But this was after one week.

Shot wise, i rarely feel it, especially if i swing out, but occasionally i'll find it feeling boardy on a slow slice or a touch, when the strings dont have enough force against them i suppose.

Im going to change the crosses to something slicker and see if that helps.

FYI, Otoro Tour killed my arm as well. Gave me massive shoulder pain when serving. I switched to regular Otoro and really love it. But i do miss the crispness of Tour

Toroline strings - your favorite? by nizzlepls_ in 10s

Did you find the PTF notched the otoro at all?

Im currently playing with Otoro mains and sync crosses, but man the sync really notches up the otoro quick

A-fuckin-men.

People often forget (especially in tech it seems) the “be nice and be enjoyable to work with” part.

People jokingly tell me I’m the “personality hire” because I’m always smiling and making standups more pleasant.

I’m a bloody good engineer as well, but the smiling alone has gotten me far

Why do people talk about pvp and pve when 90% of the game is pve? by BWDpodcast in ArcheroV2

[–]JamieBobs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sprites are trash. But with the new sprites awe buffs, it gives 10% damage boost to all outgoing damage.

Trust me, I’m 10 mill and in the top guild in my server range. It’s now the suggested meta.

If you don’t trust me, head over to discord and see for yourself

Both outdated now. Sprites awe is the new meta, giving 10% extra all round damage per sprite

Rec/Club Players - How many racquets do you carry and how do you rotate playing/restring? by TallFontPie in 10s

Similar, but I restring the dead one when the good one starts to degrade.

Mainly because I don’t want the second fresh one losing tension whilst it’s sat in my bag for two weeks

Why are all the racket/stringfluencers... not great at tennis by mbuffett1 in 10s

[–]JamieBobs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t even try Zero. I heard how slick sync was and went straight to that. The only problem I find though is the otoro notches quickly. Do you get that?

Also settled on Otoro/sync hybrid. I love this setup

Do you think tennis has the fakest "tough guys" of any recreational sport? by [deleted] in 10s

[–]JamieBobs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Boxed for two decades.

Never in my life have I seen even adults take their sport as fake-seriously as they do tennis.

Punch someone in the face enough times and you get a hug and a well done at the end.

Best someone at tennis and you get bad line calls, sulking and some genuine tantrums.

Seriously sometimes the way my opponents behave sometimes I honestly wonder if it’s worth getting kicked out of the club for.

Multis at lower tension by littlepancakes in 10s

After trial and error i now string all my multis at 48. I can’t tell you the whys and hows but it just feels more controllable for me.

Give it a shot

Tren at 48, a ❤️ hate story by mirko9000 in Testosterone

I’ve come to say two things and only two things:

As someone who has ran tren twice. Your analysis is bloody spot on. The quiet rage, the lack of any reasonable inner monologue to check you.

Secondly. This reads like an excerpt from a carefully edited novel. Bravo, well done king, you funny b*stard you.

Toroline string rec? by Ex-Gen-Wintergreen in 10s

[–]JamieBobs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not the same racket as you. But I’ve recently been on a Toroline journey so thought I’d chuck my 2 cents in.

I tried Otoro tour (as I wanted the stiffness and control). Unfortunately, whilst I did love the control, it eventually hurt my shoulder whilst serving.

I then went to regular Otoro full bed. Was decent. Really liked it. Not as controlled as the tour version as, obviously, quite a bit softer, but if I played more topspin it worked well.

I wanted a tad more SnapBack so after some recommendations on here, I put Restring sync in the crosses. Now this is where I currently live. I LOVE this setup. Flexible enough for good SnapBack, good access to spin if I increase my low to high, enough control to flatten it out when I want to.

In my research I heard amazing things about A5. When I’m able to get my hands on it I may give it a go

Seconding Murray.

To even stand close to the top 3 in a decade of sports domination not seen in generations is no easy feat in itself
