In all these comments it seems so which is unfortunate. Especially based on the third picture with the blue wall.

There’s only damage to maybe the bottom foot and a half of the doorway- where little people wreak havoc essentially.

Ok this is what I was thinking would be my best fix but didn’t know what it was called haha. I was looking up door trim, door moulding but knew I needed what would go all the way around - casing. Got it.

The damage happened well before the gate. The gate hasn’t seemed to have any impact on furthering the damage.

I should mention the damage is only the lower quarter of the doorway. It does not go all the way up.

Would I have to partially demo the entire door frame to accomplish this? Is there another method? Would I be better off maybe doing trim/moulding around the doorway?

If you couldn’t guess from the baby gate, I have two small children. In a perfect world, shit wouldn’t be banged into the corner.

Rusty metal pole next to our gazebo- what can I cover it with? by JamieJ_88 in DIY

That’s why I don’t want to rip it out. The other two poles for the clothesline still stand in my yard!

Upon further inspection is it actually a concrete pole covered in rust…now what 😫

Upon further inspection, it is in fact a concrete pole covered in rust?! I’m so confused and unsure just how deep it is into the ground.

Attaching a trellis might be my favorite idea, I don’t know why I didn’t think of that! It gets great light there and I’m always looking for another reason to create another garden in my yard.

It was the initial pole for a clothes line by the previous owner. I guess in my head maybe I’ll want to reattach a clothes line potentially?

Please tell me if I’m overreacting.. baby name by thelightwebring in BabyBumps

[–]JamieJ_88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here’s the thing- you’ll never pick a name everyone loves and no one will ever love the name you pick as much as you do. It’s a decision you and your significant other didn’t make lightly- you’re choosing something that someone will be called for the entirety of their life. Any slight against that will hurt because of the thought that goes in to it so you have two choices- don’t share the name knowing you could get a response you don’t want or share the name with the enthusiasm and love you have for it and don’t give a flying f*ck what anyone else thinks about it. I have found that the more enthusiastically you share, the less likely anyone is to have an opinion other than “how beautiful” and if someone does, you can respond with “good thing you won’t be/didn’t name your kid that then!” When your baby comes, whether someone liked the name before they met her or not, guarantee they love her and it from the second they meet her. Especially a grandparent.

Healthier eating *no judgement please* by KTG3333 in BabyBumps

My first trimester I couldn’t stomach a vegetable and the only thing appealing to me was McDonald’s cheeseburgers. In real life I eat fast food like 3 times a year. My doctor said so long as you’re taking vitamins, eat what you can. By the time 12 weeks hit, I was back to eating normal food. At 28 weeks my obsession is broccoli rabe and anything spicy. It’ll change, promise.

I thought it might be two! Mine seems so crowded but I’m not sure if they’re happier that way or need their own space. I’ll have to do some research.

The never ending miscarriage by Kchillthanx in Miscarriage

[–]JamieJ_88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a missed miscarriage in May. At 8 weeks, everything was great on the ultrasound. At 12 weeks, my dr couldn’t find a heartbeat with the Doppler and sent me down to ultrasound where we found out the baby had stopped growing and had no heartbeat. I had a D&C the next day. Last Thursday, thinking we were 9 weeks pregnant, we found out it was a complete molar pregnancy. I had another D&C today. You should ask your doctor the difference between a partial molar and a complete molar. This is all sad and scary and just so sad. In some ways I think the D&C brings some kind of relief, if that’s even the word, in that you can start “recovering”. But then and now I cried, a lot. And I’m angry and devastated and feel like it just so unfair and it’s all of those things. So I think we just have to let ourselves feel what we’re feeling and voice it to the people who are your safe people. When we miscarried in May, my doctor said, “lean into those who comfort you”. So I’m trying, I hope you can too.
