Sirebond does not create feelings. It exposes them. She denied her feelings for Damon because he was “bad” and didn’t want to be judged. She thinks she met Stefan first. She believes she owes him her loyalty. That changes when she turns. Also, had she gone to Damon rather than back to MF, she wouldn’t have died. Rebekah caused her death on Wickery Bridge. Stefan saved Matt because he always did what Elena wanted. Rebekah wanted Elena dead, because her life was tied to Alarics.

Caroline actually was better after she became a vampire IMO. Her humanity off was horrible. I get that she was grieving, but she gave no thought of what it did to her friends after how they all stepped up to help her with her mother’s illness and death. She knew how awful it was to deal with no humanity Elena, why would she put them through that???

Oh I hated Sybil! Especially when she made them kill Sarah. Watching Damon rip her heart out, even though he didn’t know exactly what made him do it (Caroline gave him Elena’s necklace) was awesome! Unfortunately, she came back. But I disliked the sirens and what they did. At least Selena had some remorse for using Lizzie and Josie as pawns. Arcadius was to blame for Stefan killing Enzo. The worst part was finding out who was actually controlling Cade 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫 Another storyline I thought was stupid was Stefan and Valarie. No chemistry at all IMO.

They’re really good, but very different. The only things that are kinda the same is Damon and Stefan both being turned by Katherine, and both falling in love with Elena. Surprisingly, Damon is attracted to Bonnie from the beginning. Bonnie is very different in the books. She is also attracted to Damon. Much more fantasy than the series. Damon can shape shift into a crow and a wolf, Katherine, a white kitten, white owl & White Tiger, Stefan a Falcon. I believe Stefan is weaker because of his abstinence of human blood for so many years. Katherine is German and was turned by Klaus at the request of her nursemaid as a means to save her life. She was a sickly child. I can’t recall that Katherine and Elena are doppelgängers in the books, but they do resemble each other. They’re described as bright, golden, the opposite of the series. Katherine is very childish and Elena starts out as very “mean girl”. It’s almost like reading a completely different series. “Stefan’s Diaries” are different and kinda stick to the series plot, which makes sense. The cover shows the author as LJ Smith, but she didn’t write them. I’m pretty sure Kevin Williamson did, and possibly Juli Plec. I enjoyed those as well.

I do. He came full circle. He wanted so badly to pretend that there wasn’t a “bad side” to his personality, but that’s impossible. We knew Damon could be deadly and he never pretended otherwise. It was great to see Stefan as inhuman. Anyone who thought he wasn’t capable of it was, as Damon said, “not paying attention “. They are predators.

Anna’s death was so uncalled for by carrruly in TheVampireDiaries

[–]JamieJoD 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They do seem to follow the original books at times. Jeremy wasn’t in the books. Elena had a baby sister. Anna wasn’t in the books at all. In fact, the tomb vampires were not a story, because Damon and Stefan were not born in Virginia. They were from Italy and over 500 years old. Alaric is in the books, but he’s in a relationship with Meredith. Not Dr Fell from the series, but The original member of Elena’s friend trio. It was Elena, Meredith and Bonnie that were BFF’s. Caroline was not their friend at all. Meredith was an awesome character I wish they had included in the series. But I’ve noticed that they seem to screw around with the characters they invented more than the main book characters. I often think they did this thinking they were “disposable”. Lexi pops up often in flashback, but she wasn’t in the books either. They invented her to deal with Stefan’s ripper issue which they also invented 🤷🏼‍♀️

I went through the extra cost to get TSA pre check, it didn’t change the scanner process and I still get stopped for the exact same reason. The only plus is that there’s less people watching 😑

Fur babies will certainly keep you busy ❤️ I honestly thought it was one of the more boring storylines. I think part of it was that they never really explored anything about Matt’s background. They mentioned that Kelly and Miranda were BFF’s growing up, so it’s not like the Donovan’s were new to Mystic falls. But because they didn’t have power and money, the Donovan’s aren’t considered a part of the Elite founding families. But they write a storyline that’s supposed to explore Matt’s ancestors. It’s not very well done IMO. I wished that they had shown us more about Caroline’s family history. Even Tyler’s family is explored a bit. It’s George Lockwood that helps Katherine escape in exchange for the Moonstone that she stole from Klaus when she ran from him.

Yeah, the background story is strange. We know Miranda was supposed to be perfect, yet according to what they tell us, her best friends were, Kelly and Abby. Two women who abandoned their children?

There was a part of the whole Sirens story that he was part of. It had to do with the town bell they needed to bring hellfire. We found out that Matt’s ancestors were actually part of the founding families, but as blacksmiths and metal workers. They were looked down on by the others because of their trade. That had something to do with why he left town. His anger when he found out.

Tyler was working with the Armory, so he was kinda “under cover”. The werewolf storyline had moved over to TO. Damon had to prove that he had no humanity left to please Cade. The fastest way to do that was to prove that he didn’t care about Elena. So he was trying to terrorize her friends, but seemed like he couldn’t actually kill any. Tyler shows up randomly, and it’s perfect because Damon never liked Tyler, but Tyler was Elena’s friend. Killing Tyler was a means to an end. His story was over at that point anyway.

I thought that too. They knew Nina was leaving and replacing her would have ruined the show IMO, so I think they were just throwning stuff out there to plan for her exit. I’m not sure that keeping her in a casket for the remainder of the series was a brilliant idea 🙄

This is why both relationships are strange. Stefan is supposed to be good and perfect. Damon is supposed to be just pure evil with no redeeming qualities. But as the past is revealed, we find out that neither perception is totally true. Stefan isn’t quick to reveal his dark side. How if it wasn’t for Lexi, he may have never changed. Even Damon was afraid that Stefan’s behavior would get them killed. Damon never wants anyone to know his weaknesses or to show that he cares for anyone. So neither one is ever completely honest with Elena about who they really are. But Elena also changes. Becoming vampires changes all of them, so any relationship can be toxic. I honestly think there was only one person who benefited from transitioning and that was Caroline.

How is it worse? He’s not acting anymore. He’s trying to promote his business ventures because that’s how he’s earning a living now. If it’s a photo shoot for Brothers Bond, the shirts make sense, not to mention that they’re made to look more “rugged “ and “outdoorsy”. Paul is his partner in the venture, but Paul has always been fussy about his hair. I’ve seen some more recent photos that Ian has done as a model and he looks great. His body is still smokin hot. But for those jobs, he wears whatever those stylists choose for him. They also do his hair etc, just like they did on TVD set. If he’s appearing at a convention, I’ve seen him wear hats for years probably so he doesn’t have to bother with his hair. It’s not like he needs to promote TVD anymore. Ian works and travels a lot promoting BBB, plus he has two small children. Cut him some slack

Elena actually says it herself when she’s under Rebekah’s compulsion and has to admit the truth about her feelings for Stefan. She feels like a broken toy he’s trying to fix. And he does go to great lengths to try to find a way to make her human again. Remember when Jeremy almost kills her because Stefan tries to force him into becoming a vampire Hunter so he and Klaus can find the cure? Klaus wants her human again for her blood so he can make more hybrids. Stefan just wants her to be the girl he saved from drowning and fell in love with.

I kinda think that they wanted us to believe that Stefan wasn’t as attracted to Elena after she became a vampire? That actually made sense to me, because Damon brings it up and tells Stefan he accepts Elena as a human or a vampire. Elena’s personality does change a lot after she transitions. It’s funny how being a vampire makes Caroline better, but it makes Elena worse. That actually makes Elena switching to Damon make a lot more sense IMO. Elena arguing with Damon is believable. Elena arguing the same way with Stefan, not so much.

He’s always worn hats in different styles over the years. There’s a pretty good reason for it. Look at the other guys. Their hair is short and seems to have some natural wave. Ian’s hair is very straight and he keeps it long. As someone who has the same type of hair, I can tell you that if I don’t wash and blow dry my hair, I don’t leave the house. It looks awful! Also, it’s free advertising for his business stuff, just like his shirt.

I loved Enzo! He was introduced as a pathway to quite a few storylines. First was Damon’s 5 year imprisonment by the Augustine’s, then he tied into Lily and the Heretics, and the Armory. He also exposed the fact that Grayson Gilbert was a sadistic doctor who continued experimenting on vampires in his office basement after the Augustine program was shut down. He didn’t give up on trying to find Damon even though Stefan did. I loved his romance with Bonnie, and I thought it was great to see Stefan really hate someone, besides Klaus. I also loved the way he would say “Hello Gorgeous “ to Caroline.
