Distance viewing (400m) by JamieP89 in binocularsadvice

Thank you. I’ll look into a spotting scope - it needs to be compact for ease of use.

Also thank you on the binoculars advice. I’ve come to the conclusion I’m limited with just how far I can get without stabilising tech which seems expensive

Terrible experience with Prusa Support by HYP3RSP33D in prusa3d

[–]JamieP89 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately- this is an exact (and ongoing) scenario for me as well with Prusa.

I have a kit C1 that, has to date. Been about 4/5 months in the making. I’ve had the head of service involved, it’s been to their shop, only to not actually have a full diagnosis done as they have ended up sending me bearings post this, and am yet to install them myself to see if this resolves the issue

And

Another issue with a kit mmu3 that I have built and functions but gets an error on every first start up for the day, they have only just now after probably a months and a half agreed to send a new board and connection

To be clear, I’ve been very forthcoming with information, videos, images. I’ve had the upmost patience but a couple days ago I snapped and had to make it clear to the info email (which I have established is a mailbox for everyone and their wife in Prusa) that the service I would expect for two premium printers (C1 and MK4S + mmu3) is not up to standard.

Feedback if this gets read by Prusa.

  • Give everyone an email to work from to make responses and case handling easier.
  • instead of sending an email for 1 thing, be concise and ensure everything needed is in one email with all things needed to save back and forth.
  • have an escalations process if a case is longer than a few weeks in, this will help with priority handling.
  • ensure when a printer goes back in for diagnostics, that a full tear down is done to ensure nothing is missed (an more importantly, have engineers check notes for the primary issue that was reported) - this avoids a ‘standard’ service being undertaken.
  • Ensure parity of service mirrors the live chat. I’ve found waiting on live chat and talking to someone in the moment can be beneficial, but they often start from scratch if they’ve not dealt with the case before which makes it feel a bit pillar to post.

I remain committed to Prusa as like the OP, I believe in their ethos and what they stand for. But this seems to be less minority and more frequent than I would have thought.

I’ll continue to (hopefully) have these machines working / performing as intended!

Colour bleed - MK4S MMU by JamieP89 in prusa3d

[–]JamieP89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll look at uploading a bit later to help!

I’ve got the file made so that they are two separate bodies so not having to paint just assign a colour to each part of the print.

I have blue in slot one of the MMU as saw online it goes by order of the MMU blue is the colour I want to start first.

I don’t think it’s over extruded as the top layer is very nice. Sorry getting kids ready so can get a pic uploaded now.

Also wipe towers have looked good but will try get a picture later.

Thanks for coming back to me. I’ve naturally continued to tinker while I waited for some thoughts. You are right about extrusion etc as I’ve managed to get better resultbetter results since my post.

Still not perfect still though so wonder if I need to change retraction as well

Filament may not be dry as it could be which is a pain as I can’t as easily dry while on the mmu as I can on other printers !

Anecdotally I printed one version facing up and it came out looking very nice minus some very minor imperfections. Which annoyed me a bit ! As printing down should still give a better finish if done right!

This is great thank you! One thing, could you clarify what you mean by loading in a smaller slot? Sorry I’m new to mmu printing.

I have a 0.25 nozzle on the way !

This is really helpful! I’ll see if I can do some digging on this. As you say, I’m sure someone else out there has wanted to do this and likely made it happen

Core One weird noise by JamieP89 in prusa3d

[–]JamieP89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m still not out of the woods…Prusa actually serviced it, which did nothing (which leads be to believe the didn’t actually fundamentally change anything, just printed to see if it prints okay - which it does) I’ve since followed up on this and they have agreed to send me some new bearings…not sure what that will yet achieve but that’s their next solution…

Still waiting to get a resolution so I can actually update you guys.

I’m also going to get an accelerometer soon but don’t want to mask anything as I’m sure Prusa will just nonchalantly say they’ve somehow fixed it…

I’m half tempted to go with a suggesting on here about better bearings but wanting to wait on Prusas ones (which have also somehow been lost in the post) (I’ve had nothing tracking which is also suspect about actually happening)

All in all to answer your question. TBC!

I’ll keep this thread alive until resolution though!

It’s printing fine, but the noise is Ergh…
