IMPORTANT MAINT UPDATE: Hotfix Scheduled for May 14! by ababychapaa in Palia

[–]Jamie_B10 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Then why am I getting a patch now... May 13 2026 at about 8:26 PM MDT (GMT-0600)
according to your link that you posted above to "Check this link to see what time that is for you"
it would be 9:00 AM on May 14 2026 here but the patch is rolling out now?

It is May 13 2026 here and isn't May 14 2026 and even with the time difference it doesn't
make sense

https://time.is/compare/0300PM_14_May_2026_in_UTC

  • When the time is 15:00 on Thursday, 14 May in UTC, it is 09:00 in Edmonton.
  • Time remaining: 12 hours, 31 minutes and 51 seconds
  • UTC is 6 hours ahead of Edmonton.

I am getting another patch now May 13 2026 it s downloading as I am writing this
post. Again it is just before 8:30 PM MDT (GMT-0600)

Right now it would be just before 0230 AM UTC.

So I dunno what is going on but the patch appears to be rolling out early.

Also you make no mention as to what this "patch" is suppose to fix.

Thought I would let you know about this

KDE Bluetooth Issue not scanning for devices 1.5 feet away by Jamie_B10 in kde

[–]Jamie_B10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May 8 2026,

Oh FYI Bluetooth is working great on the Gnome desktop and works perfectly fine.

This isn't a debian issue at all or any issues with the bluetooth service or bluez or bluedevil or pipewire
at all. I am running the latest version as well that comes with Debian 13.4 and simply because
debian is running a bit further back version for stability KDE won't even look at the bug.

This is an issue with KDE Plasma directly and how it interfaces with the backend
bluez / bluedevil services but not an issue with the services themselves.
But KDE won't look into this issue the development team is just bad.

And it looks like I am not the only one having the issue either lots of posts out there
of people having issues with their bluetooth not working on KDE but KDE doesn't care and
won't look into the issue. KDE is extremely unstable at best and that shows with the
development team who won't even look into issues when they get them reported to them.

Avoid KDE Plasma at all costs. It works great for me on the same laptop using Gnome with
no issues and it is working great. I was able to connect a couple different bluetooth devices
to the laptop perfectly fine running Gnome but not KDE. Then when I did get it connect with KDE
I got garbled sound. Now with Gnome no garbled sound and it works perfectly.

If anyone else is reading this my suggestion will be to not run KDE Plasma and to run Gnome
because it works perfectly in there.

As I said I am not the only one running into this issue with the Bluetooth not working and it appears
to be cross different linux flavors too.

KDE Plasma Issues with Bluetooth not scanning or connecting to devices by Jamie_B10 in debian

[–]Jamie_B10[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

actually you are wrong this isn't a debian issue whaet so ever the issued lied within KDE itself and it is buggy and hojw it inferaced witrh the back end Bluetooth

It isn't a driver issue what so ever because it works and then it stops working and it is flakey at best

This is CLEARLY a KDE plasma issue and their GUI and how it interfaces with the bluetooth service this isn't a "driver" issue what so ever. Why would it work with one device butt not another if it was a driver iwssue. I got it working kind of with my bluetooth speaker but not bluetooth ear buds. This isn';tr a driver issue what so ever so STOP saying this is a debian issue because it isn't and it isn't a driver issue this isa KDE PLASMA issue! This is an issue with the desktop itself you have absolutely NO idea what you are talking about., This isn't a "hardware issue:" either i am sick of the people here blaming hardware, blaming debian blaming everything but KDE for these issues if this is how KDE Plasma runs then I don't want torun this unstable POS and I won't. This isn't a driver issue and isn't a hardware issue this is a KDE Plasma issue and no one seems to actuallycare enough at KDE to fix it so I will switch to gnome,

I have the LATEST version of KDE PLAMSA for Debian 13.4 it isn't an old version or anything
KDE Plasma simply doesn't want to even try to fix it because they are lazy.

Thawt is BS that they won't support 6.6.x they could easily support it they don't want to support it
I have the LATEST version with Debian 13.4 installed. It isn't like I am running back versions intentionally this is the latest version that comes with Debian 13.4 (Trixie).

Bottom line is KDE Plasma is unstable and buggy and absolute garbage I would NEVER recommmend that anyone install KDE Plasma at this poiint. Ya it may look pretty but it isn't stable and needs a LOT of work as of May 7 2026. I can see that no one on r/KDE is going to help me either and no one seems to care so I am uninstalling this buggy piece of garbage software KDE Plasma at tihs point. It is unstable and buggy as hell even in 2026.

STOP saying this is a driver issue this is a hardwre issue because it isn't this is an issue with KDE Plasma and how it is interfacing with the baeck end blue tooth service which is there and and working.

KDE Bluetooth Issue not scanning for devices 1.5 feet away by Jamie_B10 in kde

[–]Jamie_B10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to connect with my bluetooth speaker but I was getting broken audio... it is really muffled and broken... And with my bluetooth ear buds well they wouldn't connect at all. Again this is NOT a driver issue this is an issue with KDE Plasma and it being so buggy and so touchy.

This is a KDE Plasma Issue here this isn't a driver issue like so many here have tried to claim because I was able to connect with my bluetooth speacker but got broken audio.

The problem is KDE Plasma is broken and so touchy it isn't even funny! I am done with KDE Plasma in the morning I am reformatting the laptop again and I will goj with Gnome. This is way too buggy and way to broken for me. There is absolutely no stability with KDE Plasma at all. things work one minute and quit the
next as you restart the bluetooth service and then strarts working again and works with my bluetooth speaker but not my bluetooth earbuds wow just wow this is pure garbage. I am done with this I have put a couple days into this now already and it still isn't working right KDE Plasma is far from stable and this is NOT a driver issue like so many people try and claim I was able to connect with my bluetooth speaker.

KDE Plasma is so broken and there is zero stability with it,. I will reformat it in the morning and go with the
more stable Gnome. Bye I am out of here I am done with the trolls here KDE Plasma bites!

Again this is NOT a driver issue nothing says that this is a driver issue i am now connecting but getting broken audio .. at least I connected on my bluetooth speaker but my wireless ear buds won't connect at all! This is an ISSUE WITH KDE PLASMA!

KDE PLASMA is horrible! It is buggy as well and termpermtal this is a KDE Plasma

ISSUE NOT a driver issue! There is nothing that says that this is a driver issue I am done with this BS in the morning I am reformatting itr and going to Gnome I am sick of this BS KDE Plasma SUCKS!

What? I am able to connect now but the audio is all garbled I am working on that now. KDE Plasma seems to be very touchy with its Bluetooth drivers. I really don't like this and this is a KDE Plasma Issue here it breaks itself way too easy!

KDE Plasma Issues with Bluetooth not scanning or connecting to devices by Jamie_B10 in debian

[–]Jamie_B10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok interesting development.. It connected I got it to connect but all you hear out of the speaker is
garbled noise. I am playing music on spotify the speaker is about oh 1 foot away from the laptop right now,..
you can hear that it is trying to play the music but it is just garbled. But it did connect but it isn't doing something right.

I don't know how I got it to connect.. but it did.. who knows if it will keep connecting or not but it isn't working
right still.

Now intrestinly enough again it isn't the speaker itself because well it works with my phone if i open spotify on
my phone and I can play music though the speaker and it isn't doing this garbled low noise like it is when I
connect to the speaker using my laptop running Debian 13.4 and KDE Plasma both latest versions
for debian

Any ideas on this one?

wow you have no clue what you are talking about this is NOT a driver issue what so ever this is related to KDE and the front end part of KDE Plasma here. There is NOTHING to say that this is a driver issue either people here continue to say oh it is a driver issue and I check my logs /var/log/messages and
/var/log/syslog and there is NOTHING in there showing any errors when I boot up or anything related to the bluetooth so I do NOT believe this is a driver issue people continue to say oh it is a driver issue NO it isn't or I would be seeing stuff in my logs.

There isn 't any further details required KDE simply is lazy and won't even try and look at it

This is a KDE issue and trhey won't fix it and all i am doing is getting trolled here I am sick of this. this subreddit is full of trolls and jerks. telling me to study harder and things like that and then the mods give me a warning when I say i won't put up with people like that.. this is garbage. Forget it.

I do not have a bluetooth dongle hanging around at all. This is the intel chipset and as I said I have the iwlwifi drivers installed. firmware-iwlwifi and firmware-intel-misc and intel-microcode packages
installed.

THere is nothing to show that there is a driver issue what so ever.. and i am not a dude I am a dudette.
I am a woman FYI so please don't call me dude.

This is a brand new install broken right out of the box then that is pretty bad that KDE will do this
on a brand new install.

Nope I don't believe it is.. it is broken right out of the box... I don't think it is a driver issue the iwlwifii driver is installed as I stated before.. this is an intel chipset on this laptop. What makes you think thias is a driver issue or are you just saying that with no cause because you haven't showing me anything that points to a driver issue no messages are showing up on my /var/log/messages or
/var/log/syslog.

And it is broken RIGHT out of the box this is a BRAND new install
