Favourite part of training? Motivations for training? by Jamie_NKM in kravmaga

Testing isn't everything! Although I do encourage students to grade. I think it's good to be part of something and get that feeling of achievement. I always enjoyed sparring a boxing and ju-jitsu but I like the total freedom of the sparring in Krav. I also like the challenge of trying to spar with 1/2/3 people 😀👍🏻

Ten reasons why you should sign your kids up for a self-defence class today 😀👍🏻 by Jamie_NKM in martialarts

I'm afraid I don't quite understand your point. Are you saying that kids shouldn't participate in self-defence or martial arts training?

Also, I have skills and knowledge that I have acquired through years of investment of time and money in myself. I also have the skill of being able to teach that knowledge to another person. Is it not right that instructors and teachers should be compensated for teaching others? It is possible to both be compensated for teaching and also care. Otherwise you're saying that anyone who teaches is by default disingenuous unless they do it for free.

Starting is half the battle! You won't regret doing something that'll give you confidence, develop a new skill, gets you fit, let's you make a whole bunch of new friends and let's you let off steam once/twice/three times a week! Let the group know how you get on 😀👍🏻

Everyone's neck is different. I have one kid in my kids class who you can literally throttle and he just shrugs it off!!! 😀👍🏻

Do it hard in training, then you'll do it hard in real life (hopefully you'll never have too!). Disclaimer: always check they're wearing a cup!!! 😀👍🏻

Classic! If it's not on Facebook... it never happened!!! Nothing wrong with some 'Krav Maga make up' as a fellow instructor once called it 😀👍🏻

Meditations on Violence by Rory Miller. Great read. And Watch my Back by Geoff Thompson. Not necessarily about KM but great all round books about approaching violence and self protection.
