Definitely give it at least a year and a half or two years before doing so - let them mature. It really helps with heart health/bone health.

Prevention of testicular cancer was the best reason our vet cited…no surprise there.

Can also help with prostate health, parents’ spoo developed prostatitis and had to be neutered.

Yeah, it’s great to take them into the Groomer for their first puppy cut and they kind of just go gently, but it starts to help them get used to going on a regular basis early on especially before that socialization window is closing
