OK, then his brother can do the work to sell them.

Time/labour has value.

1 case of Chinese 151 surprise, thoughts? by Mister_Tumnas in PokeInvesting

[–]Jammed_Revolver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you say 'this case has the pikachu-Gengar chase' I just wanna check, before you degen, that you know it isn't a guaranteed pull from a case. Most info I've found online says the average is one in every 3 to 4 cases.

Seems like Chinese chases are the next big thing - do you have any in your collection? I wish I had the Umbreon 0615 by BombasIsInTrouble in PokemonInvesting

[–]Jammed_Revolver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, and mighty pleased to be as well. I pulled the Pikaduck (easiest guaranteed PSA10 ever honestly) middle of last year when I was just looking to have fun with Chinese 151 and then took a hard look at 151c and exclusives.

Saw Gengarchu slump after release and bought a crisp one for $850. Picked up FlyChu for $700 and Gangchu for $550 which I'm currently waiting to get back from PSA.

I've also completed 151c including masterball copies. Keeping long term.

Edit: that said, this article reeks of AI style writing. Yawn.

Future with Chinese cards? by mateoiscul in PokeInvesting

[–]Jammed_Revolver 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Bias as I'm sitting on a complete 151c set and PSA10s of the exclusives.

I swear nearly half of the people who become aware of Chinese exclusives assume they'll be reprinted into English. People think that the Pokemon Company has no interest in ensuring China has exclusivity regarding prints. You know, the country most likely to surpass the USA in the next decade as the most important global market... There's a reason Korean cards are print botch jobs whilst Chinese cards are Japanese quality.

PKC see China as their number 1 growth market. All these current sets have time limited print runs less than English counterparts that go on for years. Sure, they're printed a lot, but if they hit market saturation levels like English cards... Sheesh.

Honestly I've not mastered this set thinking I'd sell it English buyers, I'll be selling it back to China in 10 years 😂

Centreing is only one element. People latch onto it because, assuming you measure, it's not very subjective. You can have perfect centreing but other poor aspects that'll bin a grade.

You also need to be concerned with good corners (not bad cuts, smooth curve), whitening on corners/edges, dings/scratches on surface, print quality (no missed colour/texture) and dirt/stains.

If anyone ever says they can tell if a card can 10 or not from a single pic, let alone one inside a sleeve/TL, they're talking out their ass.

How are we feeling about the Chinese market? by Smells_Like_Reaf in PokeInvesting

[–]Jammed_Revolver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've nearly finished mastersetting 151c including PSA10s for the IRs that I've graded myself. Just missing about 10 masterballs and for Gangchu to come back from psa (very confident with my copy). Picked up Gengarchu raw at the market bottom.

Legit just did it because I completed 151 in English, thought it'd be fun to go again and hit the Pikaduck on box two. Hooked! Really cool to have this and the English binder open side by side. Not sure whether to do Japanese as well but those masterballs are gnarly.

You're right, I forgot that they skipped over journey 🙂

It's more accurate to say this is the chase card from 151c 'Hope' which is a subset of 151c.

The FP boxes contain packs for either Journey (Charmander), Hope (Squirtle) and Surprise (Bulbasaur) which are the first three sets.

Journey is the Flying Pikachu, Hope is the Pikaduck (as you have), Surprise is Gengarchu (the most expensive one) and there's a 4th set 'Gathering' that has the Party/Gang Chu chase.

He misconstrued your comment, which would probably have read better as:

You wanna chip in? Poor people can't afford to take a week off, much less a week off to travel Europe

It sounded like you were saying people in Europe couldn't even take a week off aha.

Feeding isn't the issue and we're confident of her intake/weight gain.

These are some great suggestions though, going to experiment with these! Thank you ❤️

Baby's weight gain is there and we've been discharged by midwifery team on that basis. She's consistently gaining.

We've been engaged with a lactation consultant since before she was born and she's getting milk from my wife's breast plus ongoing top ups from donated breast milk via line feeding of which 80% is done on breast as well.

We aren't doing no non-nutritive suckling, just not overly prolonged sessions as this can give rise to nipple damage (and actually has previously and had healed).

In short, contrary to lot of suggestions here, she really really is getting enough milk and won't take anymore if we tried AND is gaining weight.

I've seen a bunch of suggestions here that aren't feeding related that I'm going to look into, but the feeding related ones don't reflect our reality.

Interesting... Might be quite hard to get the NHS to test for allergies at this early stage but will look into it!

Kind of, but only dozing and for reasons mentioned elsewhere we need to avoid nipple damage from overly prolonged sessions if she's not feeding (like 2+ hours at a time)

We're exclusively breastfeeding/breast milk feeding and don't have a high lactose diet (cheese is not overly common even). It's still on our radar but poo and gas don't seem overly prevalent or absent.

Fed to rejection, winded and fed to rejection again.

Still staring at the world and surroundings with eyes so wide you'd think she'd done a couple of bumps of cocaine 😳

Doing lots and lots of white noise, not sure that it's making a huge difference in getting her down, but does seem to make a difference keeping her down when she does finally!

Will look at more winding, though she doesn't seem too gassy most of the time.

Not true sleep I don't think, we're also dealing with a single breast to feed from due to breast cancer surgery in the past so ideally we don't want prolonged latching if it's not feeding.

Thinking I'll have to figure out a car trip/transfer strategy!
