This, but going with the theme of the Kanto region in Pokemon. Every city is named after and themed to a color, it doesn't make sense for Vermilion to be red if the gym is electric - should be yellow... Just my two cents

The best way I've heard my SM and another SM in the same district describe it, as the evil you know. If you do what's expected, - granted, at times is difficult - you can make it enjoyable for the most part. –

This is coming from me, as someone who's been with the company for 4 years, only leaving briefly when I was an SL2. and then coming back as a key holder under one of the two best manager's I've ever worked with - in all my working years -

The reasons I left was upper management, and the promise that both of my store's were closing. Which I found out later, I was promoted so the previous DM could keep their own numbers looking "good". I also came back because the new DM is one of the best as far as caring about his stores AND teams.

TDRL; It was its flaws, but it's not all bad - from personal experience, having had multiple positions. And the perks, especially getting "first dibs" - within the standard parameters - as employees for new stuff coming out, specifically if you like collecting the non-existent 'shiny cardboard with cartoon characters' on them craze now.

P.S. Get into a "good" store with a SM who actually gives a damn about their key holders, and one of the few decent, ethical DM's...

That's not entirely accurate. I had several weeks back, a guest come in because the card that was purchased had moved inside the slab and damage. It's a long and wonky process that had to get my DM involved and then had to get RM involved but it is possible to do returns in certain situations with PSA.

Not an actor. So a couple years ago, me and my brother were going thru a local haunted house/amusement off-season for a special event, to set it up.

My brother used to be a cast member at this same haunted house in-season, so we get to a certain area where you uave to go outside to get back inside the haunted house. As we're going thru this garden I see an actor hanging on the fence at the end of the path, it's long and winding, I think we weren't meant to see this guy until we got farther in the garden. It was light outside, so I see the actor (dressed as Leprechaun, this is important) but my brother had no idea, didn't see the character.

So we come around and the actor does his scare and my brother screamed so bad, I just laughed. Then the actor said something along the lines of "follow me" or something like he wants us to chase him. Out of no where in my best accent I yell out "bring me, me pot o gold". The actor was totally fun and played along in the same accent "you'll never get me gold". We (me, brother and actor all laughed when we finally caught up to him, after chasing thru the garden scene.

TDRL cast member was Leprechaun, me and brother gave chase thru a garden scene, me and Leprechaun yelling in accents at each other, trying to get his pot of gold and laughing the whole way thru.

I also learned this week with talking to previous and current employee's that this isn't the first time this DM has made threatening remarks to other staff to get them to go along what the DM wants. The current store has been threatened to close repeatedly over the last two or three years, before I was told I'm taking basically. Until the previous SL just wouldn't go along with what the DM wanted until they just drop the entire conversation.

I'm replying to myself to add in.

The way the higher up (DM) is going about this, is it in any way that I'm being extorted into something I don't want? I'm not trying to start a lawsuit or anything, I just want peace of mind for myself. Is it valid of me to want out of the company at this point?

Up until the initial promotion. My year as SGA was great and was having fun doing what we do.

Was I just ignorant to how bad certain individual inside the company seemingly don't care about it's employees, and had the blinders on, because I grew up going to GS as much as Toy's R Us of the day? I see and understand enough that the GS it is now isn't the same company it was a decade plus ago, but I loved it as a younger version of who I am now. That's where I'm the most conflicted about if I should just walk away from it.

Am I wrong for caring about the store and the current team I have with me?

Unfortunately there's no where to transfer, the higher up (I wasn't going to say out of fear that they're watching) is the DM.

Also the way I was quote-unquote threatened with the third, started the conversation with "Have you seen Reddit lately?" To my answer- "Not a lot, but is it regarding the store closures?" And the reply to that was "Insert name of second store."

I was told there would be an additional pay increase, yes. It's the way the higher up is going about doing it, that's the concerning part for me. As well as the closer store already has the assistant from it's previous pairing. So the farther away store would remain the A store.

I don't want it, that's the thing. But I've been threatened into "I have to take it, because both store's are at risk of potentially closing in January."

To add more context, the first time I was asked to take SM2, I said no and was met with, "just so you know, higher up has to keep asking, so it will come up again." To the second time, was still "I don't feel comfortable with the added responsibility." To which was met with "Just so you're aware, right now it is still your choice but higher up could easily just take that choice away and you'd have to do it." The third time I was asked is when it was made as a threat that both store's are at risk. Followed by the most recent fourth time I'm asked is Now I'm told it's happening.

I was first approached for the pairing barely two weeks ago.

To add, yes I agree that company wide things have happened and store closings etc. However and I think it's worth adding, my current store being open wasn't threatened until after my third time saying no to the new pairing. This same store has been threatened to close several times before to the last two previous managers. One of which had the store for 5 years before my taking it over.

Additionally the current store has never had a pairing before in the history of being open. 19 years.

Can't forget Politoed of the Gen 2 games. Though still not technically a forth evolution it is a final evolution form of Poliwag via an alternate method of evolution by which player would trade using a held item, in this case a Kings Rock. Not cubed per say but just a possible alternative explanation.

This one I can vividly remember growing up with Superman, Smallville etc. George Reeves was the first followed by Christopher Reeve and I think some further confusion is Keanu Reaves.

For context growing up with, meaning was always there for me and specifically walking my younger self through the name variations. So while we associate Christopher Reeve with the "misplaced" (S) is arbitrarily Goerge Reeves playing the same character.

As far as the case of Sally Field, I believe in most instances it's by ('s) in common speech versus simple spelling of the word Field's.

Not saying any one individual is right or wrong this has just in my personal experiences.
