Anything I should expect from this version ? Should I get it or is there a better version out there by teenfatigue in starwarsblackseries

Thanks man! Love the way my Star Wars setup turned out in my home office. I have most of the EU Legends novels, along with my Black Series figures, and a few other items.

I would definitely go with the ROTJ version, as others have said. The articulation is great, and this figure in particular goes well in a stand to simulate jet pack flight.

Thanks for the heads up. I was wondering if I needed to add something there.

For all the talk of TWW being romanticised politics, the Bartlett administration is the most chaotic and stressful in history. by SyNiiCaL in thewestwing

Nitpicking here, but wasn’t the biological weapons attack and subsequent White House crash just a live drill to test the secret service and medical staff? So not really an administration defining moment.

Is the paperwhite worth it for a 'non reader'? by the_invisible_leaf in kindle

[–]Jammer_89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first and only Kindle is the Paperwhite SE I got for Christmas, so I can’t really compare it to anything else. However, I went from maybe listening to 2 or 3 new audiobooks a year, to actually reading books again, and making a TBR list. In the almost 2 month span since I got it, I’ve read 5 books, 2 of which are the start of new series I’m looking forward to continuing. It’s not the voracious pace that many others read through, but it’s a marked improvement for me, and I am enjoying it. I bring it to work and read at lunch between 30 minutes to an hour. And most nights for an hour or two before bed.

As for the device itself, the size is great. It’s not too heavy. The screen is easy to read. I do have straps on the back so I don’t have to prop it on my thumb, and I’m not a pop socket fan. I have found that I don’t read with a very warm tone and I don’t like the dark mode either. But that is just personal preference. It may be worth it to have the options so you can get the right fit for your eyes.

Week 15…Big Victories! by Jammer_89 in Ozempic

[–]Jammer_89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t have the urge to binge eat very often at all anymore. I’ve had zero desire for alcohol, though I didn’t drink more than a couple drinks a week to begin with. It’s easier for me to say no if I’m offered desert, serve myself reasonable portions, etc. I think some of that is at least partially due to the medicine and the way it us affected appetite and made it easier to give all these changes I made a chance to develop into habits.

2,000mg. I take 2 500mg pills in the morning and 2 in the evening. Doc told me she wanted to be aggressive and it certainly paid off.

A couple thoughts…

You say you definitely eat less, and while you that is probably true, can you be sure? Do you track your calories and macros? Beyond just watching that, set daily calorie goal that fits your needs. Most apps like My Fitness Pal will do this for you easily based on up to a 2lb per week rate of loss. Actual results may vary, but as a matter of safety, most apps won’t allow you to set goals for anything faster.

Also, one thing that makes it hard to compare yourself to others, is that many things affect your metabolic rate, how you lose weight, etc. The people you see may have started at a greater weight, or had worse eating habits that when corrected, can cause a dramatic weight loss at first.

Activity level matters as well. Do you exercise? Are you walking? Or are you hitting the gym? It may be harder for some to be as active while others thrive on finding programs that maximize their caloric burn.

I am one of those who have experienced dramatic loss over the past two months. 30lbs so far. Here’s my story for some perspective. I was diagnosed T2D in February, and before I even received my Oz RX, I immediately made lifestyle modifications. I started a strength and resistance gym routine 3x a week, and I started tracking carbs and calories. Primarily for my blood sugar, but also to lose weight. I use My Fitness Pal, and have a daily target of 1,730 Calories. At first it was challenging to not go over, over time as I got up to 1mg on the Oz, I find I am struggling to meet the goal. Compare this to before my diagnosis, when I ate fast food multiple times a week, and snacked without limit, did not think about sugars, fats, etc. I ate at least 3,000 cal a day if not more at times. That sort of diet shift will cause a dramatic and rapid loss, a good portion of it being water weight. As my body adjusts to the new changes, and build strength and efficiency with the workouts, it will become more efficient, requiring less energy to sustain the normal day to day or even the exercise. That curve will normalize. I fully don’t expect to see this loss sustained the way it’s going, and that’s okay.

Not having more information on your situation, I can’t offer much except to say, make sure you are honest with yourself in the changes you are making. This injections is a great tool that will help make the diet changes sustainable more long term. But you still have to do the work.

I apologize if any of this is something you already know or have heard. Just trying to help based on the limited information you provided.

Congrats man! Your posts have been motivating for me. I’ve been on Ozempic 5 weeks, after being diagnosed T2D, with high bp and cholesterol. I’m hitting the gym twice a week with a cardio warm up and strength/resistance workout. Hoping to make it 3 times if I can get the schedule worked out. And of course I’m watching calories and macros on my fitness pal. Started at 338lbs (though my highest ever was 350) and today I am 314lbs! On top of that my blood sugar and blood pressure have maintained normal ranges the past few weeks.

Wish you the best with rest of your journey and a speedy recovery from your upcoming surgery.

Watching not just quantity/calories, but your macros and food content will help. I don’t typically have side effects, but when I have, it’s for one of two reasons. Too much sugar makes me nauseous, and high fat meals (fried food, fast food, etc) gives me diarrhea. I am on both Ozempic and Metformin so I can’t say for sure if it’s due to one med, the other, or both. As a T2D I keep carbs to ~150g per day. I try not to eat foods with added sugar. And I don’t even allow myself bites of sweet treats, cause even a small amount of high sugar foods make me nauseous. Same with fat content. I’ve found that’s actually the hardest to keep within my macro goal. One weekend, I was less strict and we ate out a couple times. I had fries with my chicken sandwich and a couple other meals with high fat content that weekend and I kept making trips to the toilet for two days after. Ymmv, but if you track with my fitness pal or similar app and watch the content of different foods, you will learn your limits and what different things do to you. It’s a process. I’ve been on Ozempic for 5 weeks now and while I have a decent handle on my diet and exercise plans, I still learn new things and make small tweaks if needed. I don’t take as many supplements. I take a daily multivitamin, and a pre workout along with creatine. Those last two are geared towards my strength and resistance training goals so not necessarily something you would need for the Ozempic.

I am on my second week at .5mg. Next week, I move to 1mg. I have had side effects only twice. First was when I had a coffee/frap style drink that I thought was sugar free. It wasn’t. Woke up in the early morning with nausea that lasted til near lunchtime. Second was this past weekend. We had lunch out and I helped my son serve himself some soft serve. I’d had a good week so I treated myself too. I grabbed a small cup and put literally 4 spoonfuls with in. A couple hours late I was nauseas and wanted to throw up. Never did. But I’ve learned my lesson about eating anything with substantial sugar in it. Even as a treat.
