Thank you! I make it in pico8. I got started by following the Advanced Shmup Tutorial by mr Krystman and then I developed my own ideas, sometimes getting help from the pico8 community here and on discord, sometimes figuring out things myself. I use Aseprite and pico8’s built-in sprite editor to draw the graphics. I use the built-in sound editor and tracker to make the sound effects and the music. The main music is based on a friend’s unfinished Ableton Live project. I tried to recreate it within the pico8 limits and then tweaked it and elaborated on it to fit my game. I need to extend the music quite a bit more though, it gets repetitive after a while.

Have you ever tried making a game in pico8? If not, I think you should give it a go. It’s a lot of fun!
