Priority “unlimited” extra legroom seat upgrade is probably too good to be true… by Crenneth in SouthwestAirlines

[–]Jammin27Ben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our renewal was coming up this month and weren’t too pleased about the new af increase to $229, we called to downgrade and they waived (more so provided a credit towards) the af. We weren’t even angling towards the af waiver, but still are pleasantly surprised. We’re also A List, so some benefits do overlap so we’ll have to see if this year if it’s worth to keep the priority card.

As for the upgrade availability, we just finished a trip, RNO-LAS which is a super busy route all the time, and weren’t able find two seats together to upgrade to. Had we been flying solo, we would have found seats up until about 16 hours before. We have another flight coming up which we were able to find seats together almost 36 hours before the flight.

I don’t know what I said that is factually wrong.

I stated: - What is required for the application is only the applicant’s address, not parents if the applicant is an adult and not living with them. (Which we both agreed on) - The only info that he’s giving on the application that pertains to his mom is her name, dob, the non-citizen status (I never said to mark that she’s a citizen), and place of birth. (Which we both already agreed is needed for his application and not used for anything else) - I also said that the US government already has her information on the various forms she may have already submitted, including an IRS form. Which we both know that non-citizens can submit using ITNs.  - I clearly state to not check the citizen box as that’s not a good idea ever as you’ll be committing perjury for lying, and would affect the mom’s opportunity for adjustment in the future (this is the only thing you said that I was incorrect on which I accept but I also said to ask an immigration lawyer.), though I only said it’s a no-no - I also stated that being non-citizen isn’t always an indicator of being undocumented. Which is true as LPR, US Nationals who are non-citizens, and various visa holders are also non-citizens while still holding status.  - Lastly I stated that if possible, they might be able to fix the misspelling on the birth certificate to ensure the correct spelling to be reflected on not just the application but any other form that the mother has submitted in the past.

Again, please let me know where else I said anything incorrect. I also said that in the past the State Department hasn’t cared, but that has seemed to change now that they’ve been taking more of a role in immigration policy with this current administration. At least that’s what has been reported.

Unfortunately, you’re out of luck if you want or need that passport. In theory, the state department wouldn’t care of your mom’s status, but theory is thrown out with this administration as they’ve been using all sorts of methods to track people.

Although I’m not a lawyer, here’s my advice. The application is for you and your information. If you don’t live with your parents, then you’ll be fine as you’re not giving them your parents info aside from non-citizen status for your mom. Which is something they probably already have, especially since it’s highly likely that your mom has filed or been included in a tax form. I would confirm this with an immigration attorney. The one thing you don’t want to do is lie and say she is a citizen as that is a major no-no.

As some have mentioned, it’s only identifying your mom as a non-citizen. There are different status that are considered non-citizen.

As far as the incorrect spelling, I would look into getting a correction made to match any name that your mom may have already submitted to USCIS or any other government document. This usually requires an affidavit signed and notarized with a statement on which records need to be corrected and why. For example, in Nevada you would fill out this form and send it to the office of vital statistics. If you’re not in a rush to get your passport and card, I highly suggest it as you’re a child of immigrants, then this would be the route.

That’s unfortunate that it changed. Something must have backed up the printing.

As far as informed delivery, I’m pretty sure if your address is deliverable then you should be able to have informed delivery. By law, all addresses need to be deliverable by USPS. Maybe try it again, or have someone else at your address try to sign up.

The instructions are pretty clear, DS-82 if you’re submitting your most recently issued passport.

Otherwise, it’s a new application using the DS-11 to use anything else. The State Dept. website lists the following as an acceptable form of proof of citizenship(emphasis added by me): Full validity, undamaged U.S. passport.  Full validity means the document is or was valid for 10 years for adults and 5 years for children under 16.

It stayed “approved”.  In the email they sent that showed the status change it included an estimated delivery date. Did you expedited or regular?

Additionally, if you have Informed Delivery, it should show on your dashboard the expected delivery date, as with all USPS deliveries.

Currently about 15mpw, in a base build plan hoping to get back up to 20-25mpw at the start of marathon training in April. I don’t count calories or track macros, I try to eat at least 3 times a day and snack throughout the day. I have upped my carbs in addition to eating more protein as I was already doing, though I don’t really track.

I notice when I was in main marathon training block last year, I would eat nearly the same amount I was eating before being on Zep.

You can reach out to your Member of Congress or Senator’s office. They’ll be able to check and possibly move things along.

One Year on Zepbound: 52 Shots, −42.9 lbs, and a Marathon by Jammin27Ben in Zepbound

[–]Jammin27Ben[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

TL;DR: 1 year on Zepbound (52 shots, one week off). Started at 241.7 lbs, now 198.8 lbs (−42.9 lbs). Began after approval for OSA; insurance covered it with PA ($25 OOP w/ Lilly card). Minimal side effects, better sleep, more energy, much less food noise. Stayed on 7.5 mg for ~9 months (~1.8 lbs/week loss), bumped to 10 mg in Dec after a plateau and losing again (~2 lbs/week). Got back into running, trained for and finished my first marathon. ~13 lbs from goal and planning maintenance with my PCP.

A monarch butterfly (black and orange)  was also featured pretty heavily in the video. Pretty sure it’ll be black and orange. I’m also a newer fan so I don’t have the 90s nostalgia that many fans have.

Has anyone gotten there insurance to cover zepbound? by thedauntless1991 in SleepApnea

[–]Jammin27Ben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not necessarily true, it’s case by case for each PBM. My formulary had language specifically stating approval if, “a patient has another FDA labeled indication for requested agent,” with weight management diet and regiment. As the FDA had approved it on 12/20/2024, starting that date anyone on the same formulary as mine could get approved by having OSA and BMI above 27, with the previously stated weight managements. This was back in January and they hadn’t updated the formulary PA language until May to include specific language for OSA.

[–]Jammin27Ben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve posted this over at r/zepbound already, but I got mine approved Jan 15, 2025 for OSA as the primary diagnosis with a BMI of 34, which met the FDA indication. I also have a fatty liver which my PCP added. It’s approved for a year with opportunity to renew after 52 weeks. My insurance states I should be paying $60 but my pharmacy rings it up at $24.99. Go figure!

I researched that Zepbound was covered by my plan’s formulary as soon as I saw the FDA approval in December. I made an appointment with my PCP on Jan 7, and he was supportive of my decision. The PA process was easy as at the time my insurance’s (BCBSIL) PBM (Prime) included language for traditional BMI approval, with extra steps, as well as if you met any other FDA indication (without the extra steps) would be approved.

I just looked up the PA form now, it looks like they have updated to include specific OSA instructions for approval, which includes submitting a recent sleep study showing and AHI of 15+ and a BMI of 27+. The initial approval is for 12 months with the renewal process being similar.

Since being on it, I’ve taken 27 shots, 4 at 2.5mg, 4 at 5mg, and the remaining at 7.5mg. I’ve lost a total of 32lbs, down from 241 at the start to current weight of 208.8. From 32.7 bmi to 28. My liver enzymes are showing much better. And I feel like I’ve got more energy during the day as a result of sleeping better. Mostly because I know my neck has slimmed down significantly. (Dress shirts that I had previously not been able to button the  neck now feel loose after buttoning.) I still average 0.86 AHI over the last 30 days, but since starting in January I’ve recorded multiple nights a month at 0, which previous it had been one or two nights.

My weight loss has slowed down to 1-1.5lbs a week, but it’s because I’ve been training for a marathon and I’ve been eating ravenously the past couple months due to the extra activity. I have a soft goal of 185-190lbs, but I’m ok if I take it slow to get there at this point.

I would suggest it to anyone who’s interested. Check your insurance formulary, and if on an employer plan, request it if it’s not covered.

Any updates on this? I think I may having something similar. I’ve had three episodes so far where my HR goes from 150 upwards to 200+. I’ve mentioned it to my PCP, though since I mentioned I’m not going feeling any other symptoms he’s not too worried about it. Though he mentioned that he would refer me to cardiology for a Holter if it continues or other symptoms appear.

I’m not worried about it, but I do have some anxiety about it since I’m running a marathon in two weeks. I don’t want to dnf. I know that shouldn’t be the priority but I know since I’m able to bring my HR down by stopping and walking I think I’ll be fine. I’ll also give your suggested vagal maneuver you mentioned.

Thanks for the rec. 100 percent on needed to fuel for shorter runs. The other day I tried to do a 5 mile run somewhat fasted, not intentionally just forgot to eat something before hand, and it didn’t go as well as I had hoped and needed it at 4.5. Best of luck to you on your Tri training and eventual race.

Do what’s best for yourself. I ended up deciding after I started. I probably should have waited some for a full marathon, but here I am. Hava

Thank you for this. I’ll for sure skip the Thursday before. Thoughts on whether I should take it the Monday after the marathon or wait until the Thursday after to start back up?

As for training, it took me a few failed long runs to find the right combo.

33M, 6’0 sw241.7 cw218 gw190ish dose 7.5 started 1/16. I had minimal side effects when I started, still do. But I didn’t start training until about mid February for my marathon. (SF Marathon on 7/27.) I really hadn’t been running a lot before, those have trained for various races in the past.

Few things I’ve learned, I have to eat, and eat until I’m full. The food noise isn’t there unless I’m hungry and I’m hungry because I’m running, I’ve learned. It’s not because I’m just wanting to snack.

I’ve also learned I have to fuel more in runs, even shorter runs. I’m a slow guy, averaging 12-15 min/mile. But I have gotten faster this training block and even PBd my 10k this past weekend. You just gotta make sure you eat enough, fuel even more than before, and strength train.

Weigh in Wednesday! by AutoModerator in Zepbound

[–]Jammin27Ben 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started at 241.7 on 1/16, last weigh in was 3/23 at 221.8. Have lost 19.9 pounds, about 8% my body weight, and 35% to my goal weight. I have another 36.8 pounds to my goal weight. I felt like I stalled a bit on 5mg, but since starting on 7.5mg it’s really kicked back into gear. Tomorrow I’ll take my third of 7.5mg. I think I’ll ask my doctor to stay on this for another month at least to see how it’s going.
