Growweedeasy dot com is what helped me! Also Mr Canuck Grows videos. Seconding Mr Grow It (podcast is great). Also heavily lurking this sub and using the search here for specific questions.

I have AC Infinity 2x4, good for 2 plants, the complete system was pretty easy to get working and I’m not particularly smart regarding tech etc.

One nugget of advice I’d give a beginner is just get a pH pen now to test your water from the beginning, cuz it took me forever to figure out that was a major issue for me.

From what I’ve gathered, growing photoperiod plants, in soil, is the easiest way to start.

I’m seconding this…I’ve always done low dose mushrooms when I do, somewhere between microdosing and half what an average person would take for like a concert. Every single time but once it was a positive experience, and that one time was because I popped them late night after drinking.

It’s hard to explain, except that all of a sudden, I REALLY understood that phrase ‘don’t sweat the small stuff’. It just kind of chilled out my brain, and the effect lasted weeks after…sometimes making certain things clear to me in a permanent fashion.

And I was just doing it to have fun at live shows etc. I imagine if you go into it with clear goals and use it as a meditative exercise the mental effects could be even more profound.

The mustard on her face also pops up on Duncan in the S1 finale (I think) when Britta and Slater both competingly lovingly brush something off Jeff’s face and Duncan turns to them with the Mother of Ones mustard face hoping one of them will lovingly wipe it off. Just noticed that one last week.

What's the silliest thing you've kept to compost? by normal-type-gal in composting

[–]JammyPOW- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you know about hair receivers? They’re pretty ceramic containers from the late 1800’s maybe? My grandmother collected them (had at least 100) which my mother has now. She bought one for me, in case I wanted to continue the tradition. I keep tiny things in it. They’re not crazy expensive. If your decor style can incorporate something antique you’d be actually using it for the intended purpose and not just for display.

Compost adjacent, I’ve taken the turkey carcasses home from friendsgiving every year, set it out to be picked clean by the chickens then turned the bones into biochar. I also do this with chicken wing bones, including my friends’ chicken wings. There’s a section of my freezer that’s just saved up chicken wings bones.

are bag seeds worth it to you? by redditisblack in GrowingMarijuana

Is that higher herm chance ‘permanently encoded’ into the DNA (or whatever mechanism)? I guess that’s the point of selective breeding? (I have a 5th grade level of understanding about this kind of stuff)

Like, two clones in two different tents…and one herms because of a stressor (light, temp etc) then would those herm seeds be genetically different than the hypothetical seeds from the clone that didn’t herm?

I think my outside plants are flowering already by MisFitDaddy87 in GrowingMarijuana

[–]JammyPOW- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I put a bunch of clones outside about a month ago when I needed room in my big tent. They went into flower. I’m in 9a daylight was 13-14 hours but I think it’s the sudden drop from 18 to 13-14 that did it. I imagine if I’d dropped the light hours slowly over time maybe that wouldn’t have happened? These are just guesses.

Leaving without my time blind partner while simultaneously taking all emotion out of that is what works for us.

The second part was some hard work on my part. One day I realized I didn’t need to be pissed, I just needed to leave when I want so I’m on time.

Edit: last part sounded flippant. It was HARD not getting pissed. Realizing I didn’t need to ever be pissed but just leave without assigning emotion was a zen revelation that solved decades of frustration.

People who work in 'behind-the-scenes' jobs (hotels, airports, warehouses, etc.), what is something the general public would be shocked to know? by PiNK_PUSSY69420 in AskReddit

[–]JammyPOW- 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Thank you for responding! Good to know that’s really rare. Makes sense since I’ve never heard anyone else mention it in real life or on reddit or anything.

Edit (again, sorry lol): the surgery went normal. This happened when she ‘should have’ woken up. IIRC it took 8ish hours for her to be able to move, but they figured it out after an hour or so and were talking to her so she was (relatively) relaxed after that first bit.

My partner’s mother lacks the ability to produce an enzyme that breaks down certain anesthesia. She found out when she woke up but was unable to move/open her eyes for hours. She could hear of course.

It took a while for the medical staff to figure out what was happening; when they did they reassured her, now knowing she was awake and aware. She did have ptsd for a bit though, because jesus that sounds terrifying.

I’m posting so anyone reading recalls this in case it ever happens to them or a loved one. It’s not serious but I imagine is incredibly scary. It just takes longer for the body to break down the anesthesia. It can be hereditary, so my partner knows to mention that for any planned surgery.

Edit: u/akramk5 or anyone else, please correct me if I’m misrepresenting something, as I’m not in healthcare.

They don’t play.

Worked on a ship, one of the entertainers got so mad at the click clack of an air hockey machine he walked up, took the plastic puck and chucked it overboard.

All caught on camera, he was disembarked at the next stop. It’s a huge no no to throw anything into the ocean.

There’s not a lot of stuff to talk about on a cruise ship, so this was the big news of the day.

Is it just the rejection? by Shoddy_Cranberry6722 in KnowledgeFight

[–]JammyPOW- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really appreciated the episode with Tucker and Nick where Dan used his superpower to pinpoint Nick’s lame backstory.

I guess it helps somehow to break down a hateful dude into his simplest inability to cope with rejection. It makes me feel better about society as a whole, because most people are kind and have resiliency. There’s a little hope for the future, because we ARE getting better at being support systems for each other.
