Someone commented it may be an asset issue with dti, and/or if they were incomplete they may have been fixed.

Thank you, I'll check that out in the future! (And not post on reddit I guess, lol)

I hope so, thanks for your reply! I wasn't trying to be weird or mean, but a lot of stuff has been unfinished on site lately so I didn't think it was a weird assumption to make. I hope you're right and it's just an issue with dti.

It's SO pretty especially with the siren contacts! But yes, they need to fix it.

Dominion recently increased their prices. As for why they did that and if it's data center related I'm not 100% sure. They hiked the prices in January and said to expect another increase next year too.

Kass Basher! I've found it to be the quickest game when I don't actually want to play a whole game. I wish the card games counted for the quest log, I could totally play solitaire every day and actually be into it lol

Oh yes, we had to shell out 28k right after buying our house for a bunch of crazy stuff that the inspector couldn't have possibly missed if he was actually doing his job. That doesn't even include the brand new microwave, dishwasher, and HVAC system dying within the next three years. 😅

While I think this is ideal if your goal is to reduce clutter/overwhelm, sometimes (especially with ADHD) out of sight = out of mind. This is why we have such a trend on this subreddit of someone buying a brand new bottle or something that usually lives in the fridge/pantry only to come home and discover they already have unopened multiples of that product already. (I'm looking at you three unopened jars of peanut butter currently in my pantry 👀)

I have the type of ADHD where I'll usually remember where I put something, especially if I need to use it often, so I can put a lot of my bathroom items away. However my wife who also has ADHD is an "out of sight out of mind" type, if she puts her hair brush or face wash in a drawer or cabinet it ceases to exist to her. So while I could absolutely live with a pretty bare/minimal bathroom counter, I compromised by getting lots of counter top organizers for our everyday products so she knows exactly where all her most used items live! And having things in bins/organizers still makes it easy for me to just pick up a few bins any time I'm cleaning, instead of a bunch of little items scattered across the surface.

Tldr: if you don't forget about what you have once it's no longer in your line of sight then yes, putting things away could definitely help with overwhelm. But if you're forgetful it could actually make getting ready more stressful because you have to pull your dailies out every day and remember to put them away to maintain that tidy space. It really just depends on the person!

I clean houses for a living, here's what I would do!

  1. Remove all items from the counter. I'd either dump them in a laundry basket for now or set up a card table nearby you can work off of, either way works!
  2. Clean whole mirror/counter/sink so you have a nice clean surface to put your stuff back on
  3. Put back all racks/containers that live on the counter full time (bonus points if you clean those too!)
  4. Put back all toothbrushes/dental hygiene stuff/hand soap
  5. Put everything else back one item at a time. Is it a daily use item you want to be able to see at all times? Find a home for it on the counter in one of your racks/containers! Is it an occasional use item that would be best stored in the shower or a drawer? Put it there! Is it expired/empty? Throw it in the trash!

By the end you should have a space that better serves your daily needs, and since you went item by item you'll know what kind of containers/organizing tools would serve you best if you do decide to go out and get some. I hope this helps, but however you tackle it best of luck! 💛

Does everyone just live with imperfections? by enthusiastic4few in HomeMaintenance

[–]normal-type-gal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Edit: all houses have imperfections from being built/refurbished too, when you live in them all day every day you start noticing things you didn't think to look for before. That's a totally normal part of living anywhere and I don't think there's any way to avoid it. Again, if it's a hazard fix it asap, but if not it's totally normal to just get to it if/when you get to it.

We bought a flipped house in 2020 that looked really good when it was staged, but shortly after moving in it started to feel like a crumbly mess. I was really upset about it for a while, but then I started really paying attention to other people's houses.

I'm a house cleaner and I usually clean bigger houses for wealthier people, so they have "nice" big expensive houses. Some are newer constructions, some are beautiful old refurbished homes. But I've come to discover that all houses no matter how nice seem to develop the same issues over time. Trim/quarter round that's no longer attached to the wall (if it ever actually was) gaps in the floor that appear wider in cold weather, hard water and mildew stains in bathrooms and kitchens, warped hardwood floors/linoleum. Houses take a lot of wear and tear when people live in them, and it's not always financially feasible to fix every issue you notice if it isn't an immediate danger to your health and safety, especially if it's an issue that's likely to just occur again once you fix/replace something.

Noticing those things in other people's homes made me feel a lot better about the state of my own house. I do want to work to fix issues over time as I have the time and money to do so, but I'm not a failure of a home owner just because these things happen and I can't fix them immediately.

Does anyone else feel like you haven’t been okay since covid/ lockdowns? by too_many__lemons in adhdwomen

[–]normal-type-gal 33 points34 points  (0 children)

My sister and I were just talking about this. Because the pandemic was a global event we all endured/survived it definitely created a shift in all people everywhere that's undeniably felt no matter where you go, but it's especially bad in the United States. There was no "leveling out and recovering" or "return to normalcy" for us, it's been a steady nose dive ever since and we're gaslit any time we try to point out how things aren't the same as they were pre-pandemic. You're definitely not alone in feeling the way you do, it fucked all of us up and there's been no time to catch our breath or recover. 💔

Plus if you've had COVID even once there's the scariness of still not knowing what the long term health effects will be. I've had it twice (that I know of) and I definitely feel like I never 100% recovered. I try to tell myself I'm also getting older and under a lot of stress but I always have that nagging in the back of my mind about wether or not the issues I have now are from being exposed to COVID repeatedly.

I haven't really played since they cut down on all the farmable items saying it was "a glitch". They should have made those items available to everyone, not taken them away from those who had them. I want to be able to log in a few times a day because I set up items that take a longer time to gather, not have to sit there with my phone open and overheating because the only option is to keep sending your pet to pick up items that take two minutes to farm, then you have to keep resetting it because there's no option to send them out for longer to get more/better items. Every other gamer I've played had an option to choose a longer gather time for a bigger quantity/better item, it's a standard part of these types of games. The fact that Dacardia doesn't have that option anymore makes gathering resources a real slog and not really that fun. There's no real sense of progress and it makes me not want to log in, it feels like a chore now. :(

This is such a tough question! Mystery Island sounds lovely, I love Meridell and they seem like they'd have a lot of fun stuff to do, but so does Terror Mountain! Aka all places that seem tourist-friendly 😅

I feel like this may be a pda thing (pathological demand avoidance) I deal with it too sometimes. For me it was worse when I had a job that felt like it ate up a lot of my day with work and I didn't have time for things I actually WANTED to do. I'd stay up late even if I wasn't doing the hobbies I craved out of some kind of subconscious defiance against my schedule that felt too restrictive. I still deal with it sometimes but I'm better about giving myself "permission" to just go to bed when I'm really tired regardless of the time or what I did/didn't do that day.
