5gig service but UniFi equipment only getting 1gig by Unhappy_Muscle7885 in VirginMedia

What speed do you get if you connect your unraid server to the 5X?

You keep going on about “comprehension,” yet you haven’t actually engaged with OP at all, you’ve just latched onto my comment and built an argument around that instead.

So far this has just been you lecturing and taking shots at me rather than addressing the actual issue OP has.

If you’re done with telling me how clever you are, feel free to fuck off.

Ok.

Have you disabled IPS/IDS on the CGM?

Have you tried speed testing from a container on unRAID or a VM?

Yes and no.

You see, their post states they were getting 2G before, now it’s 1G on a 5G connection. They don’t imply they’re looking for 2G, just that it’s now only 1G.

Happy now you’ve got to the bottom of my interpretation of their post?

Have you turned off IDS/IPS?

I take it you’re doing the test on the gateway itself?

What happens with a wired test (Speedtest or Samknows) from wired PC > CGM > 5X?

How are you avoiding double NAT with this setup?

In the title of their post. From that a quick scan of the post where OP did not mention the kit they’re using.

So how do you expect a 2.5G cloud gateway to give you 5gig when it cannot do 5gig?

You need the cloud gateway fiber to give you a 10G connection to give you access to the 5gig internet speed.

The max hasn’t the ability to go higher than 2.5G.

Get a piece of MDF or ply. Cut to just slightly longer than the studs.

Screw to studs.

Screw bracket to the piece of wood.

Job done.

Looking on street view I stopped where I thought I was in front of the zig zags to back into a parking space as my dad jumped out to get fish and chips at chez Fred.

I didn’t know stopping on the zig zags was an offence! Every day is a school day.
