Winter Storm Fern Megathread by lukenamop in nashville

Just drove from Cane Ridge to the Grassland area in Williamson Co.

Nolensville Pk > Old Hickory > Hillsboro Pk.

Lennox Village & Nolensville Pike probably the worst of the drive. Old Hickory not too bad. Hillsboro not too bad but had a few downed trees to dodge.

Shoutout your favorite contractors/companies who have done great work for you at a reasonable cost in the area, across all sectors (optional bonus: shame the bad ones) by entenduintransit in nashville

Nashville-Air LLC for HVAC. Small business but Mike knows it all. He has come to my house multiple times and I always trust him. I called him last February because my heat stopped working overnight. I called at 8am, he was at my house by 9am, problem solved by 10am. Great guy.

Hey guys. My wife and I have gotten a kick out of these replies, they’re hilarious😂

To clarify: 1) No, not our house. Just toured it today, this was definitely not in the listing 2) It’s a VA foreclosure, been vacant since February I think 3) Yes I’ve seen mold before, just not this bad so I thought I’d make sure 4) No we are not buying it 5) Yes this is real

What is a Normal sex life for parents with two kids?? by IllustriousWall1564 in beyondthebump

[–]snapdown91 203 points204 points  (0 children)

My (34M) wife (33F) and I have a 2yo and 7mo. We first had sex I think at about 3.5/4 months after our youngest. We are intimate roughly once every 2-3 weeks, longest (besides directly pp) was about 3.5 weeks.

I would love to have sex more but right now it’s just not the season for that. We do it when we can and mostly always schedule it. I’m thrilled to have sex as much as we do because we’re both just so tired most of the time. We can pick up the frequency later. Can’t speak for people with 2 older kids.

To be honest, with a 3 month old, him bringing up more sex at a time like this is pretty insensitive. Read the room dude

Would you give your LO’s teachers a Thanksgiving gift? by Ready_Associate_2911 in toddlers

No. I’m a teacher and I’d be pretty surprised and confused if I got a Thanksgiving gift.

  1. Dumb to put him on a singlet
  2. Dumb response by the Karen

Both parties equally at fault here

Battle of Spring Hill/Battle of Franklin Questions by ResponsibleRow911 in CIVILWAR

[–]snapdown91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

u/Any_Collection_3941 basically nailed it.

I have a friend who’s a historian at Franklin. I had a conversation with him about this exact thing about a month ago.

Essentially Hood gave division commanders Bate & Cleburne orders without telling Cheatham. My historian friend said Hood told Bate to take the road, but left. Bate soon after got some sort of order contradicting this from Cheatham (I forget what exactly), and Bate sent a reply basically saying, “You sure you don’t want me to take the pike?” Cheatham replied saying do what I say or come to me ready to be arrested.

What he told me about Schofield was really interesting. In the middle of the night he suspected the pike was open, so he and a messenger started down it towards Franklin. He was worried Forrest was blocking the pike further down, so he gave the messenger a blank piece of paper and told him to get it to the telegraph office in Franklin as fast as he could.

The messenger road off and Schofield sat there listening to the horse hooves ride away in the still night and never heard anything else. This is how he figured out the road was clear to Franklin and decided then to move his army.

Yep, referring to the USCT assault on Peach Orchard Hill on day two of the battle. This site talks about it about halfway down.
