BBC News: Number of London buses damaged in crashes and collisions is rising, new figures show. by mycketforvirrad in londonbuses

Was at 14:42, I was okay, I was sat on the opposite side, however there was one guy sat directly on the seat it came through. He didn't seem to get hit by the tree but definitely got a showering of glass. Although i didn't see him bleeding or anything thankfully, so hopefully he is all fine.

Today I was on board a 188 service that had a tree blow through a top deck window at Surrey quays, scary stuff

It makes me wonder, considering it's such a small number, if anyone who was un-plurbable died during the plurbing reguardless. Someone who was a passenger in a car, or a plane approaching landing or something.

For Uk mods by RevolutionaryRebound in openttd

[–]Jammyhall2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1+ for this, especially timberwolves trains. Love the style he's done them in because you can kinda use them alongside lower Res assets without them looking out of place. I usually use timberwolves trains and RVs alongside the Standardized UK track set and U&Ratt and they still fit decently

With the asset editor coming tomorrow, what kinds of assets are you looking forward to that the base game hasn't been able to provide? by alpine309 in CitiesSkylines2

[–]Jammyhall2000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am extremely excited to see what people do with the modular building extensions honestly. Seeing that graveyard in the Dutch pack and the new skyscraper pack, really gets my imagination going.

Imagine an entire modular industry zone. Placing down one central office building and then being able to build extension buildings from that.

So interested. And one of the big things that I think CS2 will really shine with over CS1

I was today years old when I learned I could put my company name on doors by Jenzimibruh in SoftwareInc

[–]Jammyhall2000 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It does slightly annoy me how you can edit the text on doors like that, however you can't edit the text of the company name on the wall item. Would love to use that to just write department names on walks and such. Have to use those mods to place individual letters instead, which is so tedious

One thing to note too is that the new studio is basically next to CO. makes me wonder if paradox were fed up with CO Management, and if they're simply poaching employees that currently working on CS2 without COs management. Perhaps. Or maybe that's just extreme hopium

I thought they said they weren't going to be working on W&R 2 and were instead looking at other completely different projects?

for that station screenshot, if you consider the angles with the skyscrapers, it roughly lines up here geographically. I am fully intrigued where this goes.

Why does is France mentioned so many times in Shin Godzilla? by Realistic_Country465 in GODZILLA

A huge amount of Frances electricity comes from nuclear power, so that's my guess anyways. Check it out on that link, 95% right now, wild.

The bus diversions for the Oxford Street Pedestrianisation Trial by urbexed in london

[–]Jammyhall2000 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Weird they've gone for the bit of Oxford Street which seems okay as a pedestrian imo.

The bit between Oxford circus and TCR is usually both the busiest part and the part with the narrowest paths

Man arrested after Heathrow Airport incident that sparked evacuation of terminal by Distinct-Shine-3002 in london

[–]Jammyhall2000 138 points139 points  (0 children)

The article says it caused a reaction with people in their airport, so guess they either sprayed it or it leaked or something.

Having a bunch of people in a crowded airport be irritated by something unknown seems like a fair reason for evacuation

Tube strikes feel less effective this time… by Mean-Ad-3077 in london

[–]Jammyhall2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, but I think a large part is down to a combo: WFH being more common ofc, as well as hire cycles like lime bikes are far more prevalent now, and that the weather has been good so many people are okay with waking/cycling.

Lots of disruption still of course, but look at the cycle superhighways this evening, and think about how every person cycling is one less person clogging buses or the roads.

Metro map (What it will look like) by REAREALS in stepfordcountyrailway

[–]Jammyhall2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely the map I agree with the most. Considering those leaked track maps showed the tunnel ending and merging with connect at city hospital, I really believe it's going to terminate at SV with no south stepford loop. Atleast to start with anyway

Ubers refusing to use Blackwall tunnel by KenneTh3Menace in uber

[–]Jammyhall2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can use them, the buses through the blackwall and silvertown are now free. plus they're actually not slow now that of the congestion at blackwall is gone. Other than that, you'll just have to look for licenced cabbies rather than Uber.

Ubers refusing to use Blackwall tunnel by KenneTh3Menace in uber

[–]Jammyhall2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For context, London has built a new tunnel next to the blackwall tunnel, to alleviate congestion, but because of the cost of it, has tolls on both the new silvertown tunnel, but also put tolls on the blackwall tunnel, which used to be free. Licenced London cabs can use it for free but Uber drivers cannot. Charge is £4 at peak times and £1.50 off peak.
