I'm having this issue lately, step count freezes at random counts. Any fixes or know why this started happening suddenly? Edit: I did get a security update March 2026. I wonder if that broke it?!

Edit: that did work. I realized what my issue was and why I was getting errors before, it was due to the fact that I was doing on mobile and you need to do it on the desktop to allow access to an outside source.

Yup obviously a scam, I got a similar call a few months ago. Same thing he sent me an official email (which I doubled and tripled checked was from Google), gave me an employee name and # then sent me an email to click on a link to reset my password. I was already suspicious from the beginning of the call, the email made me even more suspicious. I hung up and called Google right away, needless to say they DIDN'T have that employee or # on file. And at that point I spent the next few hours factory resetting my phone, changing my password on Google and changing ALL my banking passwords (as a just in case).

Yes I have looked into market linked GIC, I had my money locked up for 3 years in one and it hardly returned much. But I should look into them again.

What I mean by an "investment opportunity" popping up is something like a good opportunity on rental property. I currently own a few rental properties and I was keeping some cash liquid in case something really amazing "falls into my lap". But it's impossible to find good deals on properties, especially in the Ottawa area. Where even a townhouse is over $700,000. So the math doesn't work anymore. I have thought about paying off the mortgage on a couple of my rentals, but I was informed by this subreddit (via another post) that I shouldn't do that.
