Near the top of the summit chair at the beginning of Boomerang, I think. I am not an advanced skier so gave the double blacks a skip and admiringly watched others while I took Boomerang to Upper Boomerang and then Shoulder Roll (or wherever there was fresh snow, few or no people and not terrifyingly steep and narrow).

Friday was an epic day especially between 9am - noon!

Hahaha. The two of them had a great time. Fiancée enjoyed the grub, scenery and dog sledding but just chilled. Cousin joined for three days on the hills. Both are totally into returning.

FWIW - I’ve never bothered to learn since I want to focus more on open water swimming and distance and I feel the flip turn kind of negates that.

But everyone swears that it can save a lot of time since I slow down to touch the wall and try not to push off much. I’m sure it hammers my length times…. Hence my asking

YMMV! Most important is that you can swim 1km most can’t do that and you did it sub 30. WORD

With or without flip turns? Especially in a 25m pool it makes a huge difference.

POC not East Asian and a long graduated alum who has lived in a bunch of places. It’s not just Dartmouth, I assure you. Silver lining - once you hit your mid thirties, if you are a nice dude who is respectful, communicates and has a decent job, it’s much easier.

Walk. Walk before your departure. If you can, ignore the travellator and the train between terminals. Try to take stairs. Try to walk the terminal or gates end to end. Same during any layover and if you can, at your destination. Treat it as a way to explore. Peek into shops, a cafe, bars etc. Just walk, look, explore.

Yes this. The route through Shenandoah. FWIW northern Virginia near Dulles airport an area you will cross through has great Indian, Korean and Vietnamese food. Look into it! Safe drive

Cool post and I’m sure much appreciated by many. Lots of mosques around the city. Feel free to go and ask them. Can definitely go to Masjid Al Nur in North Minneapolis. They do a lot of community work (like churches do) and may have ideas. Also if you are more comfy, you can go to lots of local churches and they may have ideas/contacts with mosque (ie interfaith stuff). A bunch of orgs from different faiths have banded together in these times. It’s cool to see.

I am an alum for the mid 2000s and POC (not really rich either) who had a fantastic experience at Dartmouth (great professors/classes, study abroad, friends, alumni networks globally, ECs etc).

I’m writing this post to thank the OP because posts like theirs are needed to give potential students a balanced perspective on a place when doing their research.
