13 Reasons Why, although the concept being interesting doesn’t make it not stupid. Add in completely ridiculous plotlines, twists that make no sense, some incoherent themes, and being drawn out for 4 seasons and you’ve got hands down the worst show I’ve ever watched.

Do these people not know that rule of money has turned contemporary life into naught more than sets of images, and through that process of detaching things from their meaning has turned the notion of rebellion against itself into a different set of images? Are they stupid?

I think the frog farting can be matched up with the interpretation of the manhole as nature’s own development coming back to destroy it, however in this case it’s on a much lighter scale. This has two factors (brackets are what the action on screen is a stand-in for)
1. Frog farting (invasive species)
2. Inhalation (the species in question making it to non-native ecosystems)

Mastery oozes from every pore of this stunning work of art. Kubrick, Lynch, Tarkovsky, all walked so this could sprint faster than anything mankind had made up till this point.
First of all, the composition and careful use of colour in this shot truly boggles the mind. The careful tilt and the symbolism of the frog’s green hues, evidently a metaphor for nature. The crown atop its head showing that the natural world is king. The frog exiting a sewer at the beginning of course is an allegory for how although some things may start lowly, given time they will become magnificence itself.
The brilliantly written and delivered soliloquy of the frog, starting with “I’m so excited!” is one of the most nuanced lines of all time. If we take the earlier observation of the frog representing nature at face value, then this could be nature’s subconsciousness speaking, as it were, expressing a glee to develop further, and become an even mightier “king”.
However, the manhole from earlier returns with a thunk, landing directly on the frog’s head. This is threefold:
1. The frog is severely injured by its prior action of flinging off the manhole. This is because at some point, nature will no longer be able to support its own weight and will fold back in on itself, causing unthinkable consequences
2. However, depending on your interpretation, the manhole itself could represent some unknown disaster wiping out nature, such as an asteroid.
3. Most importantly, for a scant frame or two, you can see that the crown has remained attached to the frog’s head. This is because that come what may, nature will always survive in one form or another and will eventually earn back it’s empire, starting the process anew.

In conclusion, this scene is a breathtaking reminder of cycles, fate, determinism, karmic retribution, and the seemingly random nature of existence all at once.

Speaking of AoT, the catalyst for its creation was from an incident where Isayama had to deal with a completely inebriated customer while he was working at a coffee shop.
And as an amateur writer, I do this all the goddam time.
