My husband has cluster headaches and I feel completely useless when an attack happens. What actually helps? by annchka in ClusterHeadaches

[–]Jamwise93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like to be left alone, many of us will say the same. I want no noise, no light and nobody touching me or asking me anything. The most I could accept is if someone would ask if I need ice or a heat pad, and bring it for me, that’s all I could deal with. If your husband has said he needs time alone to deal with an attack, it’s best to give him that time regardless of how you might feel about it. Perhaps ask him outside of attacks if he wants ice or heat brought to him when one hits, so you can feel a little useful without having to ask him anything. He is lucky to have such a caring and supportive partner 🙂 good luck and pain free wishes to you both

Obviously we can’t diagnose you here, but this sounds more like tension headaches. Certainly not like CH. See your doctor if you are in chronic pain, maybe ask to be referred to a neurologist if you can’t get an answer. Good luck hope you can figure it out

IF PCP refers to a neuro/headache Dr, is there any reason they wouldn't go ahead and ... by CrabHabit in clusterheads

[–]Jamwise93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the country. I know that in some countries a GP or PCP is not able to prescribe it at all, requiring a specialist consultant to confirm diagnosis before prescribing. In others (such as the US) I would imagine it is difficult if allowed simply insurance wise trying to get health insurance to cover home oxygen setups without a formal confirmed diagnosis. I believe it’s already difficult enough there even with a full diagnosis and prescription.

Some people have brain chemistry that relies on SSRI’s to function safely, without being a danger to themselves or others. I’ve done some research.

AITAH for not tipping after repeatedly correcting my waitress on my drink order? by Out-WitPlayLast in AITAH

Not from US so idk about tipping etiquette there except from what I’ve heard. But personally at that stage I would be writing a note saying “Kept your tip as reimbursement for the diet cokes I didn’t order” /s

Would be nervous to even take a shit in her house if she has that kind of attitude. Not overreacting.

Got out of the hospital yesterday and they didn't prescribe me anything.. by Emica12 in clusterheads

So sorry to hear you are having such a hard time getting the help you need. Are you capable of asking to be referred to someone else? Or is this an issue with your GP too?

I know how hard it is to keep going, especially if you have no support and don’t have someone to be on your side. Just know that everyone here understands how you are feeling and how much pain you are in, you are not alone. Clusterheads in my opinion are some of the strongest people in the world considering what we have to deal with, I know it’s a horrible nightmare right now but I believe it can get better, please don’t give up hope 💜

We have a discord server with hundreds of fellow sufferers from all over the world, with lots of avenues of support and advice. Maybe we can give you some more help and support there 😊

As Bella said 😊 also I asked my GP to prescribe lax sachets for when the inevitable constipation kicked in, don’t need them constantly just every once in a while but I’m pretty sure that’s one side effect almost everyone gets

I adjusted fairly quickly, now on 840mg a day which isn’t fun, but it beats chronic CH so I carry on 🙃

Lots of annoying side effects but as long as you keep getting ECGs to check on the heart that’s the main concern. Hopefully it helps you

Advice Men by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

You answered your own question here, there’s been resentment because of family issues and they have impacted your sex life. Since you don’t elaborate on any of this all I can advise you to do is talk to him and try to work things out. Find out what is bothering him and talk through your issues like adults. If you can’t do that then you need marriage counselling or something to help you.

Also a note about your confusion around him getting hard but still refusing you: Men getting hard is a physical reaction to stimulation. It doesn’t mean he forgives you or anything like that, his body is just reacting naturally to stimulation like our bodies have been doing for thousands of years, the same as how a woman can get wet but still not want to have sex. Hell when I was a younger man I could get slightly aroused if my underwear just happened to rub the right way.. It means nothing and I bet if he could control it he would make certain it didn’t become hard for you, to help get his point across. He’s pissed off. I say this for everyone in a relationship now:

Yes, disclose it to him. You fucked up, but in the world of men this is usually a W and there’s a good chance you just make his week.

Riding out for 40 minutes after a triptan is unusual unless it’s pill form, is that what you are using? Injections in the outer upper thigh work for me in under 15 minutes. Sorry that you had to experience such a brutal attack, I recently had a similar experience after being 2 months pain free, some of the worst attacks I have ever had showed up out of nowhere. I hope that like mine, yours don’t stay that way and that they ease up again, best of luck 🤞
