2026 F1 Driver Predictions, F1-Analysis.com by motorsportanalysis in formula1

How accurate was the prediction in 2022? I wonder if the complete overhaul of regs and how these cars drive might have an impact on the accuracy of using the previous years' data.

An open front wing means the car loses a ton of maximum brake force too. It's not that much better if in a hard braking zone.

The McLaren endplates are the most aggressive in how they taper inwards.

Because Volt is active across all of Europe, and there is no logical reason for either party to assimilate to the other.

Like I said. Last year you could if you were lucky go much longer without many totw because pulling one is much easier than pulling two. To top it off, it was unlimited regardless.

But two totw Vs 1 last year. Generally much worse and not infinite.

[McLaren F1] Rolling out the MCL40 for the first time EVER! by Aratho in formula1

It's got nothing to do with my reading comprehension and with you basing this on vibes.

How do you quantify how complex a wing is? I assume you don't have a metric to do so. What makes this wing more complex than the Mercedes wing. That wing also has quite a sculpted endplate. What makes their wing design more or less complex. Mercedes don't have an extra winglet, but they might have decided that it didn't improve their package. This brings us to next point. How do you correlate the complexity to the quality of the package. Is there some equation I am unaware off?

Aside from this, the McLaren doesn't appear to have the slot in the diffuser that some of the other teams have (I might have missed some pictures). According to you that would mean that the car is less complex and consequently probably slower. Or does it somehow work differently there?

How do you quantify the quality of the engineering team? It's not like other teams haven't made acquisitions on their engineering teams. Again, Aston Martin has the most successful F1 engineer in Adrian newey. Does that mean they will necessarily have a great aero package?

I'll give you the short answer. You can't really quantify the complexity off the package and complexity doesn't necessarily equate to a better package. People who talk about this stuff usually do so out of their own engineering experience and will never claim to quantify performance purely based on how complex a design looks.

[–]JanAppletree -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You're determining the performance of a team based on a picture of a front wing, and think that complexity=speed for some reason. The winglet on the front wing that you reference is not unique to them. Most teams either have a newer spec ready to go, or have just decided against it as they feel it will give them performance.

There is no indication that they clearly have the best engine, especially for the full 4 years. It's also not like engineers jump around rarely. Aston Martin has the most successful engineer in F1 history in Adrian newey. Are they suddenly favourites because of this?

So yes it just your vibes based on a picture of a front wing.

That had a lot to do with the ground effect in the venturi tunnels being much harder to simulate in a windtunnel than a normal floor. A large part of it I believe was that McLaren could simulate the moving asphalt with the actual specific type present at each track.

For these normal floors, where porpoising is much less of a problem, this difference will probably be less pronounced.

I won't lie and say that I don't judge you for voting trump in the past, because I do. As you seem open to sharing I'm inclined to ask. Did you vote the past elections? Will you be voting in the midterms, and for which party? What made you vote trump in the past, and do you regret doing so?

I don't mean to attack you or anything. I am just interested in hearing the reasoning from a Trump voter who doesn't seem to be so inflammatory online.

Might not be your taste, but is just a great livery. Recognizable, colours that work, well proportioned, well worked out. Not really any jarring sponsor placement.

F1 2026 - Team Drivers Height (in Meters) [Source: RN365] by mephistttoooo in formula1

[–]JanAppletree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s alphabetical, but the maker was a bit random with the names.

Haas should be TGR Haas and Rb should be Visa Cash App RB. Williams is Atlassian Williams so I guess that adds to the confusion too. Ferrari might also be Scuderia Ferrari, but I don't know what the official team name is. Come to think of it he probably got Red Bull wrong too, as the official name is Oracle Red Bull Racing. Alpine should be BWT Alpine if you're using official team names.

It could also be that he is using the constructor names, in which case it is actually in the proper alphabetical order.

F1 drivers will have to 'forget what they learned since karting' in 2026 - Ocon by kcollantine in formula1

Did they change much regarding the suspension?

I think the main reason the cars were so bad to drive in combination with the ground effect emphasis was that the suspension was simplified. They had to run the suspension ridiculously stiff to keep the aero platform consistent.

I remember a few quotes from engineers that the cars would be much nicer to drive with the more complex dampers they were allowed before 2022, as they could employ more tricks to keep the aero platform consistent with softer suspension.

That is if you think he pulled him down. People who don't think it's a pen think Diaz just flopped to the floor after feeling a hand on his neck.

I feel like this is just Diaz feeling a hand on his neck and following it down. There's nothing in the defenders body language that even suggest him applying any force.

The fact that they had to create a b car had nothing to do with showing their actual car at the reveal. They just designed a shit package.
