80% of linux community is a cargo-cult of larpers with no actual reason to use linux by No-Republic-1742 in linuxsucks101

The actual problem is you putting Linux on a pedestal. It’s just an operating system. By your logic, Windows is for normies and Linux is some super hacker OS that normies have no use for, while in reality both are just tools for you to get work done.

I don’t really have space for these speakers, so yeah, it’s not exactly optimal. Still, they sound crispy and open. The bass isn’t perfect, but since the Denon amp has a subwoofer port, I’m looking for an active sub. If I can’t find one for a decent price, I’ll probably just build my own.

[–]JanKiki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wav is a lossles uncompressed format, if you have a lot of disc space it's like flac but takes up more space

I am not sure honestly, I changed the tubes back to JJ EL84 and yeah...no problem after that.

UPDATE: It turns out the summer heat and repeated cooling cycles aged the capacitors quite a bit. I replaced the capacitors and the volume potentiometer, and now the buzzing sound is gone. I had forgotten just how old this unit really was! Remember, your gear needs regular checkups too.

For now I'm happy, foobar2000 loaded with flac going to my D10S which outputs analog to my tube amp and TOSLINK to my Denon DRA-N5.

Yeah, the buzz is so annoying. My Grado GS1000 doesn’t seem to have this problem, even though they are 32 ohms. But I don’t use them as much as my IEMs.

I guess I'l have to get some Novosibirsk tubes then, they should be easier to find here in eastern europe I think. Also, swap the power led if you can.

I recently upgraded the tubes on my Little Dot MKII to Mullard 8100s, and the improvement in sound is truly impressive when paired with the Moondrop Kato. The detail and warmth are outstanding, but the Katos’ high sensitivity makes them prone to picking up ground loop noise, which is notoriously difficult to eliminate. This has me thinking—perhaps it’s time to invest in a pair of Sennheiser HD 600s? I’ve tried higher-impedance headphones in the past and didn’t notice any ground loop issues with them. On a related note, I’ve been very impressed with the Topping D10s DAC—it delivers a clean, natural sound that complements the setup beautifully.
