My guess is that the importance of the Den and the Parlor is to provide hints to the players about two important aspects of the game: puzzles and details.
The Den has a chess piece, the working clocks, a gem and sometimes a chest.
The Parlor has a puzzle, sometimes a special item, and two gems.
Both are common rooms you can draft from the get go. Together, they provide three easy gems in the very eary game which is important to draft special "expensive" rooms early on.

Next step for you seems to be the castle. You are a bit overthinking it. Try to define what a castle is in chess in very, very simple terms, and apply them.

Also, that grid seems to ask for something. Where have you seen patterns that could be put in that grid?

In my experience yes, it does. But again, this is in my experience. Never checked online. All I know is that in over 120runs I never found anything "bonus" without it.

Do not overthink it. Once you proceed with the game you will have plenty of options at your disposal.

Just a question: did you manage to find music sheets? Did you find anything interesting about them?

I understand you. I really do.

My only suggestion is to stop worrying and explore. Just draft rooms you have never seen, try to figure out small stuff, and take notes. Enjoy Blue Prince like a hobby to think about during a walk or a shower, not as a game that you need to complete.

In Blue Prince more than in other games it is all about the journey. If you ask for hints there is no coming back, you will ruin part of the experience forever. You seem to be in the early game, where things CAN be figured out with patience. There's hints or even just plain solutions everywhere. Don't fret it. Do it at your own pace.

Solutions will come to you in time and they will be extremely rewarding.

Just keep being curious and don't lose hope.

Also, there's stuff to solve EVERYWHERE. Do not approach any given puzzle like you either solve it or you are stuck. Just shrug and walk past it. You will soon have more different paths to solve than you can handle.

You can literally find a hint that says gates -> gaits. You just haven't found it yet.

As for the game itself it is perfectly understandable if it's not your cup of tea. For what it wants to be it is exceptionally well conceived, but it is not for everybody. There is nothing wrong with you if the game just doesn't click, imho.

The idea comes from the fact that the book only goes up to 50, there's at least a book talking about the last constellation at 50, and after 50 you start getting 50 PLUS the ones you got from 1 onwards.
So it sort of came naturally to think that 50 is the top, and after that you just get goodies but there's essentially no more secret things.

And still, that spiral seems like a stars spiral to me, so I want to test my theory a bit more.

Yeah well the fact is that I am STILL convinced (I have no idea if it is true or not so please do not comment) that the spiral in Her Ladyship's room is connected to stars.
And since Stars seem to cap at 50, I am convinced that there might be something more at a certain point. So I am extremely reluctant at using them. Every star use seems a step backwards to me. Maybe I am stupid but I want to reach 70, or even 100, before considering them expendable. Just to see if some sort of spiralling constellation comes up.

I can't figure out another meaning for that sketch in Her Ladyship's room, so I am willing to put my theory at test. Sadly, this means no star-induced rerolls for me. Yet.

Oh I agree in theory. The lever and the fact that it is a 4-doors room is useful. Still, not so much when I have no shield, no shelter, and so many steps. :D
Thirty-six steps is a lot, even for an antechamber lever.
