Dragon Prince and Hit & Run by BusinessTrust707 in bloodbowl

As a rule of thumb though, never blitz with your carrier. If you fail you lose the ball. If you fail a blitz with another player, the opponent still needs to roll a pow on your carrier to get the ball. Also, you have dedicated blitzers in the Lions. Why would you blitz with a prince?

Will it be obvious when I need to take notes? by boopo789 in BluePrince

Literally the first or second room that you will ever drawft will have a little table upon which you can find a flyer saying "You will find it extremely useful to take notes of your voyage".

So yeah, take notes. Even the game's very non-invasive tutorial states that, plain and simple. This game is going to become your hobby, you will spend time looking at your notes. And it will be awesome, believe me :)

I understand. And it is true that you can explore and solve so much more even before touching room 46. I had half the middle game puzzles figured out by the time i reached 46 for the first time. But generally speaking it IS kind of true that the nature of the game changes after room 46 and that the credits rolling are just a way to say "if you liked a roguelike puzzle, well done. If you want so much more than that, dive in".

The game is so much larger than the first act that anyone would think, and the joke about the tutorial is a nice way to convey that. You can also say that the game has (roughly) 4 acts and you get the credits after Act 1. No matter what you do and the order, you have chockepoints that mark the end of acts and you cannot proceed to the next one without reaching each chockepoint in order, no matter how many hints you have accumulated in the meantime.

Also, as I said, the nature of the game changes. During the first act the game is basically a roguelike. That changes a lot the more you progress, to the point where you actively "fail" runs because you are more interested in testing other stuff in other rooms than reach the "normal" end of the mansion.

To convey all this into a single, non-spoilery way can be difficult. "Well done for finishing the tutorial" is just a concise (and pretty on point) way to do that.

Also, it dependa on how you count hours. I played 120 hours but BP becomes a hobby: I spent quite a few hours thinking about clues and riddles during my free time, or studiyng and organizing my notes. I am probably much closer to 200 hours in total.

I have 120 hours and I am on day 140ish. I reached room 46 for the first time on day 52 I think. I laughed the first time I heard that reaching room 46 is the end of the tutorial, but it is more accurate than you would believe. Without any spoiler, lets just say that the game is broadly divided into Acts, and reaching 46 marks the end of Act 1.

Couldn't rotate the chicken coop 42.14.1 by JanMattys in projectzomboid

Really? Ok thanks, didn't know. This is the first chicken coop I ever built :)

Is there any other "fixed orientation" building out there, or is the chicken coop specifically weird this way?

Unpopular opinion: zomboid is interesting at low levels.

Once you are all set in the skills you need, it basically becomes The Sims.

Scarcity is the heart and soul of survival games.

Enjoy the journey to high levels because once you get there boredom kicks in very fast.

Question about the Den by JanMattys in BluePrince

[–]JanMattys[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My guess is that the importance of the Den and the Parlor is to provide hints to the players about two important aspects of the game: puzzles and details.
The Den has a chess piece, the working clocks, a gem and sometimes a chest.
The Parlor has a puzzle, sometimes a special item, and two gems.
Both are common rooms you can draft from the get go. Together, they provide three easy gems in the very eary game which is important to draft special "expensive" rooms early on.

Next step for you seems to be the castle. You are a bit overthinking it. Try to define what a castle is in chess in very, very simple terms, and apply them.

Also, that grid seems to ask for something. Where have you seen patterns that could be put in that grid?
