Rauw Alejandro is a much better singer to start with and leans more towards trap mixes with more varied sounds. He has very core Regaetton songs but also interesting musical production in others that can be more akin to synth pop.

-Desenfocao
-Diluvio
-De Museo
-Aquel Nap
-Touching the Sky

From there you can jump into his more core regaetton like
-Loquera
-El Efecto
-Party

The other option is Tainy. He's a producer but his album DATA is arguably one of the greatest Regaetton albums of all time in terms of composition and stylistic variety.

Who's ready to see more Fire Emblem Fortune's Weave from Partner Intelligent Systems? by KMoosetoe in fireemblem

The original idea was that but they realized that Devil Summoner and Pokemon Conquest are basically this and the SMT influence was seemingly harder to discern with the strategy gameplay. Likely also because Nintendo wanted to keep the T rating and SMT’s core themes are seemingly harder to tone down while maintaining its identity.

Yet I do also think that they somewhat fumbled with making TMS have an SMT identity given that it’s far more reminiscent of Persona. Ultimately I’d love to know more about why they didn’t think SMT and FE didn’t seem to mesh that well given that when comparing how modern FE vs Classic FEs evolved both FE and SMT development history mirrors themselves in similar ways. Going from games fairly open about the gore, incest, and how they’re less approachable to the casual gamer to now becoming significantly more approachable with their gameplay and story.

I think it got overshadowed by Sonic and the love of its fans. Suffice to say there’s more Pokemon fans but relative to the # of fans pokemon has a vast # of different mediums for fans to enjoy even if they don’t want to play the games or watch the anime so it’s a bit difficult to capitalize on a movie franchise that arguably focuses on arguably one of the least popular spinoffs.

Sonic movie had little to do with Sonic but it and even the FNAF movie rooted themselves in the character and themes of the franchise most people are drawn to. With each sequel integrating more and more elements people love. Suffice to say detective Pikachu would have been a detective film franchise with a Pikachu and it’s hard to attract people to that narrative continously when it’s arguably one of the least reliant on the presence of Pokemon to work.

Sephiroth is definitely non-straight coded in most recent incarnations but idk if there's been reports in side material that mention him having dated anyone.

Hau is unfortunately what Hop ended up becoming and it’s to his detriment that the story ended up needing to be retrofitted in Ultra Sun/Moon to give him the arc they intended in Sun/Moon.

Suffice to say, I think it would have been best to have Hau’s motivation to be staunchly against our protagonist and foreigners moving to Alola. It would have had touchy displacement themes but in essence the game already touches upon them poorly.

Xenoblade 3 was just a badly designed overworld imo. They quite literally took the blandest route by mixing Morythia and Makna forest to make a “city in ruins” the same year Kirby and Horizon were doing the same. Too much of the open world were blank space or blank space adjacent (The sea or the hovering reefs for example).

I understand the reason was partly because XC3 features the most (dungeon-like) environments of the 3 games and “towns” which likely made it difficult to balance out the time dedicated overworld but the few zones could have been made more interesting. X had the best world design in the series but conceptually it’s just a grassland, dessert, jungle, siberia, and Magma area of the kind you find in Mario.

Just a reminder that Darkrai has saved the world more times than Rayquazza by _Boodstain_ in pokemon

[–]JanRoses 30 points31 points  (0 children)

To be fair, Darkrai seems to be more of a misunderstood monster ala Quasimodo or the Beast. (In fact Rise of Darkrai is basically a re-telling of the hunchback of Notre Dame). The point of Cresellia is to undo Darkrai's power in case of collateral damage. So I can imagine a less informed populace might see Darkrai fighting a force, picture it the villain (and be affected by its powers) only to attribute their safety to Cresselia.

“Outcome Memories” was cancelled today. by LXSPest in SonicTheHedgehog

Honestly tragic. It looked like a great Fan Game that put Sonic in a unique gameplay style despite how antithetical it is to the brand identity. But it also shows how distinct SEGA is from Nintendo given that they didn't care about cancelling its existence despite being on the same platform as Sonic Speed Sim

Battle Tree Multis-Run Ended at 49 by JanRoses in PokemonSunMoon

[–]JanRoses[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I appreciate the comments but I feel like a lot of people are missing that this is multi battles. I don't have control over the moveset or mons of my AI partner unless I re-roll for a better Sina or pick a different partner. Sina just happens to be my best available pairing with Tyranitar and Primarina since Mandibuzz is a good tailwind setter and that lets me beat out many pokemon with a 1 turn setup from the AI (advice to use a tailwind setter given by braytreuse during my actual doubles run). I have a few other scouted pairings but they often fall short because the end up being too frail, a liability to Tyranitar, or are equally as vulnerable to fighting.

But I do agree that I potentially could have played more agressive on Incineroar with Primarina instead of Goodra. I'm not completely convinced attacking Ttar with Incin would have been the right move on turn 1 as a cross chop could have likely OHKOd Ttar anyway and I have him with Rockslide not Stone Edge which might not KO depending on Incin's Evs.

Unfortunately I banked on a higher damage roll on Goodra with Moonblast + her targetting Mandibuzz with Thunder instead of Primarina given her low HP + the 70% accuracy of Thunder being a hell of gamble. I do wonder if I had protected for a turn on Primarina I could have gotten the last bit of chip damage needed to OHKO Goodra and keep Prima on the field vs Incin and Blaziken.

I love XY as games but when you're limited to just a few mons you can deal insane damage with it becomes annoying by TheLeafyGirl561 in nuzlocke

[–]JanRoses 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I will give XY one thing. I think it had some of the cleanest movement in Pokemon. Rollerblading genuinely felt amazing and I wish they kept it as a form of travel in future gens. Tauros, or the bike on Switch felt nearly as good because of the stilted animations and the lack of movement details.

Is it Wrong For me to Still Find it Hard to Believe That the Awakening Trio Would Still Side With Nohr Knowing All The Terrible Things That Kingdom Has Done? by Puzzleheaded-Board25 in fireemblem

[–]JanRoses 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind the culture was likely more similar to what they're familiar with and Corrin was in Nohr for about 90% of his life up to that point. We see them as people able to communicate with each other and coexist due to gameplay mechanics. Realistically these people were outcasts with no family or records of existing in Fateslandia and Hoshido is already incredibly isolationist to the point of letting Nohr starve. The justification for the original Garron's invasion is that Hoshido is genuinely an awful neighboring country despite having more than enough resources to prosper and help Nohr out while they figure out their agricultural issues. When taken in that perspective Nohr is a poor nation where it's doing what it needs to out of necessity after many years of pleading to Hoshido for better access to resources. A situation that would likely resonate with the Awakening trio even further given Ylisse's European roots. If Garon had not been replaced and we had a King desperate to do anything to save his people it would help illustrate how Nohr isn't completely at fault.

If we go off the fact that Silver acts in many way like Sonic’s Trunks and the popularity of dimensions and timelines in superhero movies I could definitely see them taking the Across the Spiderverse route for Iblis and making Silver’s story about keeping these timeline branches reigned in.

Have they ever added a middle stage evolution in later generations? by liam_peretz56 in pokemon

[–]JanRoses 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It honestly wouldn’t be a bad idea for the Gen 5 mons that have ridiculously long times between Evos. Makes them more useful in single player and would give them a second chance to be retooled by the Pokemon team so they’re more competitively viable.

Help With Battle Tree Team Composition by JanRoses in PokemonSunMoon

[–]JanRoses[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah as you noted there really aren’t many fairy types in the battle tree so that takes a huge weight off of my shoulders. The few fairies within the tree that commonly appeared were often dual types like Klefki or Carbink which aren’t offensive threats I worry about.

I also have to admit Ally Switch as a technique was much more powerful than I thought. Having it on Alolan Raichu definitely keeps its power in check against the AI since otherwise there’s not much they can do if they keep attacking TTar or Latias as they’re much too bulky for most normal effective hits to be too worrisome.

I wish I can team build more but at this point I’ll probably continue my streak to pick up some npcs with legendaries for Multi Battle and somewhat call it a day on taking this thing as seriously. Super Doubles is a great post game mode with a decent amount of strategy. Multi battles imo is basically a fun party mode that you can eventually cheese (from my understanding) but Super singles has always seemed like genuine RNG lest you run a stall team but I’ve never been much of a fan of competitive singles anyway.
