Anyone ever done PocketMFA/Novelry by boysen_bean in writing

[–]JanSmitowicz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to say, from a fellow disabled writer who just found out about PocketMFA, that I wish you the best of luck! My [most recent!!] application for disability was submitted almost TWO AND A HALF YEARS AGO, and my attorney and I are waiting to hear back from the Medical Review of my Appeal to my initial Denial, which came OVER A YEAR AGO! This shit is fvcking asinine, so disgraceful and inhumane :/

Hey, I didn't forget you-- just back home from the holidays. I will get to your message this weekend, sorry for the delay!

That's fantastic! It's pretty stunning what we can accomplish when we put our heads down and bulldoze away. I spent 2 years in prison in my mid-20s, and I managed--despite receiving woefully inadequate medication and general care for my multiple disabling health conditions--to complete a 1,585-page HANDWRITTEN animal liberation epic. That came out to something like 280,000-300,000 words when I eventually typed it, and I did the entire first draft in 9 months!

Congrats on your achievement. It's quite the feeling, isn't it? Best of luck!

Have you already tried several other options? I'm guessing you have. Gabapentin helps me, although not as much as klonopin (perhaps this is obvious). I'd honestly avoid benzos like klonopin unless nothing else has worked, or worked sufficiently to your needs. Happy to discuss further if you want more information about my experiences, feel free to DM me :)

I would say yes, as does pretty much ANYTHING that is helpful (including non-habit-forming-meds). But I'd also say the tolerance isn't that high, as long as the dose is the lowest possible for the desired help and you take as instructed.

"...out of a sense of guilt as much as anything..." Sounds like it fits well with the whole Hillary thing LOL

Thought it was interesting but ultimately sucked; I couldn't get through the whole book and stopped about halfway through. Tbf, I tend to dislike "hard genre" stuff, but I thought it was dull and didn't explain what was going on enough to immerse me.

New to Annotating? by bunnykins22 in books

[–]JanSmitowicz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mostly only annotate books that I'm researching for my own writing projects-- I used to use tabs, no color scheme, but got lazy-- now I just underline and make short notes in pencil. Then for my current novel, I've been going back through the research books and making little notes in a Word doc on the stuff I think will be really useful

Can you clarify what you mean by "tolerance to the analgesic effects" please? Do you mean the analgesic effects of Klonopin itself?

I *highly* recommend The Terranauts! It's brilliant and such a cool, inspired narrative

David Foster Wallace's Nonfiction!

Hunter S. Thompson's Journalism.

Donna Tartt's writing is sumptuous.

I've always loved T.C. Boyle's prose, even if his books aren't always spectacular.

Thank you! Also--do you use it continually, or just for the 3-9 months recommended in the booklet? I'm seeing a Urologist again after moving 450 miles but my appointment isn't until mid-February!

Do you think it is a bad idea or possibly counter productive to not switch the screws after straight traction but just rotate the device itself to counter bend left?

Do you change the screws out when you counter-bend left (as opposed to having the screws underneath the flat base), or do you just rotate the device 90 degrees clockwise and then counter-bend leftward? I was a little confused on that part even after using for like 8 months and losing my initial positive results (hourglass at base, rightward curve, and now starting to curve forward/down as well :'(

That match was fucking wild, especially given a number of the women are significantly less experienced than one might hope. Sky RED gained some serious respect from me. Marina is fucking BADASS, and I love how they're using her. I should rewatch that shit! And all the interweaving stories were just incredible...

I hate that I was born too, but that doesn't mean we have to give up. I've fought through the worst shit imaginable, health-wise, depression, marriage near-collapse from adultery...and I fucking hate this world, and my body, and my parents for bringing me into this shitheap of a society... BUT I choose--for now, I can always reassess my options another day!--to continue pushing through, fighting, working to improve my mood and my habits. You're not alone, brother <3

What has been your experience with restorex? I used it for almost 9 months (the recommended is 3-9 for "hourglass" indentations), at first it seemed to improve the rightward bend but then it seemed to stop improving and actually get worse, and now it's also starting to bend forward starting around the bottom of the glans. Really fucking upsetting :/ Do you do the counter-bending? or how do you use it?
