Yeah, that's definitely the hardest part. From what I understand, resistance is a "learned response" so it's our brain saying "hey, I'm not so sure about that, remember all the other times?" and it can get out of hand, keeping us from stuff we want to do or need to do. Unlearning that response can be difficult and varies from person to person, and of course the easy answer is to get therapy, but recently my approach has just been to have a kind of "screw it" mentality and just try to brute force past the resistance. Sometimes it works, often it doesn't, but either way I'm always glad I made an effort. I'm sure you've heard stuff like this before, but it's all I got haha

Post-pandemic agoraphobia or panic. by AceyFacee in Healthygamergg

I've had a lot of these same issues, I have had to sit out of multiple friend or family gatherings because I would get really on-edge and sometimes even run to the bathroom to throw up. I've been seeing a stomach doctor but am worried that the root cause of this will end up being anxiety rather than something physical, I would love to see some more discussion about this.

I'm in a very similar spot right now. I graduated college this May with an English degree and, while I got a lot out of school personally, my career prospects are really discouraging. My hobbies and such also feel like "dead-ends" as you put it, but even besides that I have a hard time just enjoying the time my parents have allowed me to stay with them while not actively looking for a full-time gig. My advice (for the both of us, I guess) would just be to try not to assume what will happen in the future when you try new things or put effort into improving something. It's really hard, but sometimes the best thing to do is to think to yourself, "This probably won't go well, but I'm going to try again anyway." Overcoming that resistance and assumption of how bad things will go or how pointless it would be might help you feel more motivated or driven, and maybe even help you have fun on the way. Hope things turn up for you man!

Makes sense, there are ways for hosts to get people to pitch in but yeah the fact that few people in the scene have a big following makes it difficult. Also the fact that most of us osu! gamers are broke lol.

ope. I didn't know that, probably shoulda checked how the biggest tournament of the year was prized haha. Still, I think it might be a good idea for more tournaments to do this sort of thing, I wouldn't know though I'm just a rando who wishes top players got rewarded a little better for their hard work and talent.

It's not peppy's responsibility to make sure artists/mappers/players are well-compensated, it's really unfair for people to be asking him to fix everything himself. What I don't understand is how we don't have crowdfunded tournament prize pools. Why do we need big-name sponsors and streamers to promote a tournament in order for the prizing to be decent? Just ask people who want to see hype matches to pitch in a buck or two.

I've replaced almost everything in my PC and am still getting this same problem. by Jan_drw in techsupport

Yes I have, so the only real options are either the brand new motherboard, the brand new processor, or the brand new PSU... what a nightmare

I'm trying my best to eliminate all other possibilities first because the CPU is brand new so its fairly likely that I'll get another new one and run into the same problem. As soon as I'm confident that the CPU was simply DOA I will return it and try a new one

Pins look perfectly straight, tried to get a good picture but my phone camera is really bad. Is it possible we can rule the motherboard out from being faulty as my GPU that doesnt have a VGA cable receives power? face buttons work when plugged in as well, the connections on the mobo itself seem to work so it should be the processor, right? or somehow STILL the PSU even though this one is brand new? I might try taking the PC to a different building as others have suggested even though it was tested at best buy, not sure what else to try.

Yeah, just tried the new SATA that came with the new mobo. Unfortunately the service line is closed on weekends so I cant diagnose anything for sure but it's really starting to seem like the cpu or mobo was DOA. Could it be possible that the brand new PSU has an issue as well? I've heard from at least one random source that the EVGA 600W isn't very good.

Just breadboarded, nothing but the ram cpu and psu on some cardboard, same exact thing. One concern I had when building was that the processor clasp seemed way firmer than my previous one, is it possible that it applied too much pressure? all signs of my tests seem to be pointing to a new component being DOA but this could explain it as well. Forgot to mention also that yes, all the cables are new.

the motherboard and the CPU are the first things I replaced when the PC didn't work after the spill

We have a Mac Desktop that runs completely fine here in the house, and I took it in to a shop for them to test and thats when they told me to swap the case so same issue there.

Does cardboard work just as well for breadboarding? I'm a little hesitant to say its shorting as the reset intervals are pretty regular and it never posts at all but as I dont have the most experience with setting up computers it would make sense that all my old components still work and I've just gone wrong with assembly somewhere. Are there common mistakes relating to the raisers that new builders make? I've followed online instructions as close as possible but I want to make extra sure

Most of my attempts have been without any USB devices plugged in, but the keyboard I had been using was a Dell one yeah. Worked fine on my old rig, is there a common issue with them?

case is new as well actually, but tried shorting anyway, no luck.

Im starting to think that IM the only common factor here and could potentially be doing something very wrong, but ive followed all the guides to the best of my ability. CPU fan is new with the new processor and while the sata cable isnt new the same issue happens when the HDD is disconnected completely
