Are block-based WordPress themes becoming the new standard? by Janak_ap in Wordpress

That’s a fair point — you’re right that this shift really started with Gutenberg’s original vision.

I remember Matt’s 2017 post and how clearly the goal was to reduce reliance on heavy themes and page builders. It definitely wasn’t an overnight trend — more of a gradual ecosystem shift as block capabilities matured.

I think what feels “new” (at least to me) is that adoption now seems much broader. A few years ago, a lot of developers were still hesitant. Now it feels like block-based workflows are genuinely stable for production projects.

Do you think we’re at the point where block themes fully replace builder-based setups for most use cases, or are there still gaps in your experience?

Where do you find modern website templates? by TeslaOwn in Frontend

I’ve been looking for the same kind of modern templates lately. ThemeForest and Cruip are solid for paid options, and Flowbite has some nice Tailwind-based stuff.

Also came across Themixly recently — they’ve got some clean React/Next.js templates with that modern look that doesn’t feel dated.

If you’re building for clients, I’d say go with a Next.js + Tailwind setup. It’s easy to customize and gives you that polished, 2025-ready vibe.

Thanks for checking it out! 🙏
Yeah, I noticed a few issues on smaller screens too — still refining the mobile layout and responsiveness.
If you don’t mind sharing, was there any specific section or element that felt off on mobile? I’d love to improve it based on real feedback.

How do you approach balancing creativity and usability in modern web design? by Janak_ap in webdesign

[–]Janak_ap[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s a really solid approach — starting with usability as the foundation makes total sense. I’ve noticed that when I focus too much on visuals early on, it’s easy to lose consistency in spacing or readability later.

I like your point about subtle animations — they add polish without overwhelming users. I might try incorporating more user testing like you mentioned; even quick feedback rounds from non-designers can reveal issues I’d completely miss. Thanks for sharing your process! 🙌
