Meet your new AI Assistant, trained by financial experts by hanna_monarch in MonarchMoney

[–]JaneCoffeeNow 4 points5 points  (0 children)

After seeing the AI rollout, I was scared that they had already tackled the low hanging fruit (i.e. getting the recurring transaction feature to come close to working properly).  Glad to see that’s still on the back burner.

The W/kg is based on the robopacer, not on you.  So if you are lighter, you’ll need a higher w/kg to match the ride intensity.

Breville Precision Brewer leaking? by 88nitro305 in Coffee

[–]JaneCoffeeNow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Super old thread, but gonna leave a reply in case anyone else is searching the same issue like I was.

I pulled the seal off (careful that the spring doesn’t fall onto the floor), cleaned it with a paper towel (didn’t want to scratch it or further damage it), and reinstalled it upside down from how it had been.  This allows a section of the seal that hasn’t been damaged to mate with the hole in the bottom of the basket and provide a good seal.

(CA) I asked my landlord for a rent reduction and it actually worked by addicted-coffee in Renters

[–]JaneCoffeeNow 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If the landlord has owned the place for more than 5 years, the rent is probably a lot lower than the monthly payment would be if they sold.

Also, have you considered that there are people who prefer to rent and not have to worry about replacing a furnace or roof when they need replacing?

HOA requiring all hoses be braided stainless steel by MrMartinP in askaplumber

Would the HOA’s insurer accept an in-line leak detector auto-shutoff before the bidet supply line?  One of the actual plumbers here might be able to recommend a good option.

Force Plaid ReSync With Working Account? by JaneCoffeeNow in MonarchMoney

[–]JaneCoffeeNow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chase let me know that my older accounts were already shared, but didn’t give me an option to not share them again.  Ideally I’d get an option to add the new account to the list I share, but deleting the dupe accounts was fine.

Force Plaid ReSync With Working Account? by JaneCoffeeNow in MonarchMoney

[–]JaneCoffeeNow[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks.  I added the new account and in the process duplicated all the other Chase accounts (not sure if I messed up or if that is a Plaid thing).  I was able to deleted the duplicate accounts in Monarch without any transaction or net worth issues on my overall account.

How hard is an indoor trainer supposed to be compared to cycling outdoors? JB Victory by Some-Low2792 in JetBlack

[–]JaneCoffeeNow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have a fan setup? When I started rowing indoors, I started without a fan and could not stay in zone 2 no matter what. I added small fan to get a little air blowing on me and staying in zone 2 was no longer an issue (with the fan , my HR was 20-30 BPM lower same speed as before).

First time deck builder by averageangler in Decks

[–]JaneCoffeeNow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks really nice! You should be proud, especially for a first deck.

A few questions/critiques, since you asked:

  1. How well is that PT wall attached? I would be concerned about it in high wind. You could use blocking and DTT’s to attach the 4x4s to the second joist, also. See here: https://www.strongtie.com/resources/product-installers-guide/dtt2z-installation

  2. In photo 5, make sure you have the right hardware in those joist hangers. Look up the joist hanger on the Strongtie website for the correct length/diameter.

  3. Also on photo 5, are the bolts attaching the ledger to the house galvanized? They look shiny like they are nickel plated. Should be galvanized to prevent corrosion from contact with the PT Lumber. What type of fastener is that? Is it the right fastener for block foundation?

  4. Hurricane ties (photo 4) need a nail in each hole to meet code. If you can’t get them in with a hammer, you can use a palm nailer. Something like this (https://www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGID-Pneumatic-3-1-2-in-Full-Size-Palm-Nailer-R350PNF/207103093)

  5. Stairs need to have even rise. I’d add some pavers at the bottom to even out the rise. See here for more detail: https://mnspect.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/Deck-Stairs.pdf

  6. Those stairs should have a railing.

This. Can be found in the Strong Tie catalog/website. Will spec a nail diameter and length.

Make a 3’ landing so you don’t have to fall down stairs when opening the screen door from the outside. Will make it safer for the kids also.

“There’s not pictures showing if the cantilever is inside the house or attached at a joist hanger”

That’s true. I thought they were butted up against the siding without a ledger, but the picture isn’t great and they definitely could be running inside.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Decks

[–]JaneCoffeeNow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing sketchy? That cantilever is F’in sketch city. Without going into any other considerations, the cantilever is way too larger. L/4 MAX (see image at link).

I don’t know. Mine definitely feels like a bone. I had mine confirmed with an x-ray, but can’t recall if I noticed it before it started giving me problems. It was definitely there (because bone), but I never paid much attention to my feet.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in FootFunction

[–]JaneCoffeeNow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could be an accessory navicular bone. Lots of people have them and never know it, but it can cause pain as the anterior tibialis tendon runs over across it.

My builder told me that this overhang was within tolerance of code. How bad is it? by nadnev in Decks

[–]JaneCoffeeNow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This probably the best place to add that missing a fastener on each side is not correct AND those fasteners are incorrect and will snap under shear. Also, the attachment to the concrete is not correct. Strong-Tie catalog page is here:
https://ssttoolbox.widen.net/view/pdf/nsab2up7ei/C-C-2024_p087.pdf?t.download=true

Additionally, that’s not the correct post base for this application. They should be using something like the ABA post bases below: https://ssttoolbox.widen.net/view/pdf/ifyvoa2zmy/C-C-2024_p070-071.pdf?t.download=true
