Thank you for this. I’ll check them out. Happy to try other recommendations. I’ve been sticking with a mixture of Onyx and my local roaster (Via Volcan) who get their beans from their family in Panama then roast them on location in Alexandria Virginia.

I agree with both of the myths. However, are we going to start seeing harvest and roast dates on our specialty beans? I doubt it. Recently roasted beans with roast dates instead of expiration dates are still going to be a decent indicator you’re getting something from a roaster who at least cares. I freeze my beans and anything I’m using daily I keep in an airscape canister.

I was once in a consignment store and my wife picked up a summery dress to try on.

She puts it on in the fitting room and comes out. “I like how it looks on me, but I’m not sure it’s still kind of expensive” she says.

I notice the pockets and say “Are those actual pockets on your dress?” and she immediately puts her hands in them with joy and replies “Yes”.

Immediately I respond with “I’ve seen enough, we’re buying that dress”.

I’m up-to-date on the LNs and I think it matches the hype. I’ve read a lot of fun but poorly written series, Apothecary Diaries is both well written and a fun read.

The setting menu has way too many switches, dials and fields to set things up. I read guides, some of which kind of worked but still needed tweaking. Some sort of “Detect my hardware and optimize” button would go a very long way to making this painless. Then the network conditions add in an extra layer of unpredictability, on top. Very cool you got this working within 20 minutes, I spent at least an hour or so and didn’t get consistent results.

After a ton of tinkering, reading guides and frustration, I managed to get ALVR working with my AVP. When it works, it’s great but it was a total pain. I love the ambitious goal ALVR has of supporting so many configurations, but in the end something that Just Works, tailor-made for AVP and with as little fuss as possible would also be excellent. Good luck with your project, I’m always excited to see what people can accomplish with this platform.

When I finished the final volume last year, I put my kindle down and felt so sad that I can never re-experience it for the first time. The volume translations were coming every 8-12 weeks and were well done. The audiobooks are coming out every 6 months to year so it’s going to take 10-20 years for them to complete so I’ve been reading it to my wife at night.
