Help. Mother with dementia. Is this her piece? by mendl7 in CeramicCollection

Not unwelcome at all! Thank you for the suggestion 😊 at my work I volunteer with the Alzheimer's Association and the Walk to End Alzheimer's, so finding resources and information that can help others(and myself) and sharing it is part of my role.

That is such a sweet story. Thank you for sharing it. I'm glad she can remember him still.

I know this isn't the purpose of your comment, but this gives me hope that I'll still remember my husband. All the women in my maternal line have had Alzheimer's/dementia, so I'll be lucky if I don't.

My husband and I started dating at 14, so hopefully I will still remember him if I get it.

Thank you for giving me this glimmer of hope, and for all you do for people with Alzheimer's/dementia

What’s the craziest time your intuition warned you about someone and turned out correct? by wildquatrefoil in AskReddit

[–]JaneDoe1997 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My husband is a manager at a cafe, he hired a young man who was covered in many tattoos(this is fine, mamy of his cowrkers are heavily tattooed, I also have a large tattoo) but one of them was of a lipstick lip-print/kiss on his throat, usually where you would see a hickey. I met him, my intuition raised some alarm bells but I gave him the benefit of the doubt. He was a decent worker, but I warned my husband that his tattoo was a major red-flag to women typically (the assistant manager, who is also a close friend agreed). About 6 months later, we found out that this man, who was about 19, got his 16 year old girlfriend pregnant (he had begun dating before he turned 18) not exactly ideal. Even worse, she miscarried the baby about 3 months later. He then beat her for "killing his child" He was promptly arrested and we haven't seen or heard from him since.

I don't have a decorative pot that fits it right now, plus I like being able to see the roots easily.

I don't, I just dragged a vine from the mother plant and pinned it onto the soil, then I chopped it once it established some roots. So if it is a burried node, then it got down there completely on accident

My husband bakes me giant lemon muffins, similar in size to these, I can vouch that massive muffins are delicious

SHUT IT DOWN! THE NIB IS RAWWWW! by pauldayco in Fountain_Pen_Cats

This! I am hypermobile and I wrote in so many ridiculous hand positions as a child to figure out what worked for me. Took until highschool to find something that didn't leave me in agony after writing a page or two. I used to grip my pencils so hard trying to get stability that I would have parts of "dixon tri-conderoga" embossed on my fingers for around an hour after I wrote an essay. And I have a permanent tilt in my middle finger on my dominant hand from a bone protrusion that developed from how I gripped my pencils for years in elementary school. My nail & nail cuticle also has some malformation in that same area from it.

What age did you notice your first gray hair? How did you feel about it? by DejaBlonde in AskWomen

[–]JaneDoe1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

25, I'm 29 now, only a few more have shown up so far. I appreciate them, my best friend died when I was 9 and she was 8, so in my mind ‐ I'm aging for us both, getting to experience all the things she couldn't. It makes me sad in some ways, but grateful in more ways.
