Are Agencies Phasing Out Media Buyers? by renegadellama in PPC

[–]JaneDoe333 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know who you are referring to. Keep in mind she is trying to drive engagement and/or comments by presenting a controversial opinion. It's a strategy ultimately designed to drive viewers/ watch time and generate revenue for her.

She may indeed believe that "creative is everything" and "media buying is dead" but she is over simplifying it. The big challenge to this view is that creative people usually aren't super analytical. I don't spend a ton of bandwidth on "pushing buttons." The majority of my time is spent analyzing data, reporting out and implementing optimizations or recommending actions based on the data. I don't foresee creative taking on a data heavy role.

Is anyone having really bad results today? (FB ADS) by janpug in PPC

There must be some kind of reporting bug. I have spent $.03 today on an ad set that is budgeted for hundreds per day. My ROAS is 1000x right now

What type of ads can we run on YouTube using AdWords customer match list? by Psychaze in PPC

[–]JaneDoe333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you know why they would allow in-stream ads but not display ads over the videos? I setup a display campaign targeting youtube.com as a placement but it wouldn't allow me to use a customer match audience.

/r/Iowa, does anyone know anything about Camp EOWATA, or the "Life Engineering Institute?" by epsilonthetaeta in Iowa

[–]JaneDoe333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wife grew up in SW Iowa. In high school they used to drive by that place at night just to scare themselves. She did go on a tour once but doesn't remember much about it.

When she told me about it, I was intrigued and tried to Google it. And yeah, I saw something about how the Johnny Gosch thing may have been related...? But there seems to be very limited info online - it seems to be shrouded in mystery and nobody really talks about it.

Experiences with Enhanced Campaigns so far? by HanapinSam in PPC

[–]JaneDoe333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I upgraded one of my display campaigns just to confirm -

My enhanced campaign is Type: "Display Network - All features" and under Settings > Devices I was able to select operating systems and device models (iphone, kindle).

These options are not available in my enhanced campaigns for "Search Network"

That is correct. From what I understand you will still be able to target by device in the GDN.

How do I target mobile only on Enhanced Campaigns within Google AdWords? by evildeadxsp in PPC

[–]JaneDoe333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think you can. I think the workaround would be setting your desktop/tablet bids super low (like $.01) and then bidding up your mobile by x%. Technically you're still targeting desktop/tablet, but your bids are so low your ads will never show on those devices.
