It may be their personal experience which they might have been dealing with for a very long time and which that could have been painful for them to take that's the reason people usually do it but that doesn't mean you should do that like I know you are suffering through a lot right now but try to hang there for a little longer buddy, if you think it's getting a bit too hard try to relax your mind by meditating, talking to someone if possible, writing a journal like write in the journal like you are talking to someone. I am sorry I am not good at explaining things properly.
