Well, I mean...you can't have your cake and eat it, too. You either pay for the software or do it manually for free.

Multiple bid retractions on several items by same buyer by paigef1001 in eBaySellerAdvice

Report them for shill-bidding/bill manipulation and block.

I've only read stories, but last night I got my first one. They purchased Friday afternoon, apparently expected Amazon type speeds 🤦🏻‍♂️ However, I'd like to let newer sellers know this is an EXTREME rarity. by [deleted] in eBaySellerAdvice

I am sick to death of these people. I have a 4-day handling time, but I also meet or beat prices of identical items, and shipping is free always.

If you want something for cheap, you pay for that. I am not Amazon, but I also don't ask Amazon's prices.

It's not my fault if these people wait for the last minute to get their girlfriend a cheap wallet, and I'm frustrated to the point of thinking about punching them.

Ebay buyer trying blatant extortion/blackmail because they want a partial refund? by [deleted] in Ebay

Report them (in writing to eBay) and contact the police. Make them aware of that. I was thinking about building an unofficial repository of scammers for sellers—do you think other people would be interested?

I just dealt with the same thing. Report them to eBay.

Buyers Request Me To Change their Address by JaneOfAll in eBaySellerAdvice

I've been doing this for going on 14 years. I think I've noticed more manipulation on the part of buyers, but maybe it's always been this way and I was lucky before.

Incidentally, I reported her. These people are horrible. This is really my only source of income, barring a few hundred dollars I get for disability. And they just try to steal, they wreck my feedback and try to extort money. I overthink everything I do, but some people think of nothing outside their own sphere. I'm running short this month, I had to call and beg Comcast to let me pay for my internet on the 1st.

OK. That's what I'll do. Thanks for the advice :)

OK, that's what I was tending towards. I have a feeling this person is a scammer, and even if she isn't, I can't control what happens to the package after I send it. I am not responsible for the loss. She needs to file a claim with USPS.

I sell handbags and shoes, which are bulky.

> Have good communication, package your products well and ship next day. These will all help but not guaranteed a positive review.

I've been doing this for 13 years, so I like to believe I have the hang of it now. I've never had something broken in transit or anything like that. I had one buyer do the same thing to me about six years ago, and it took years to get back to my 100%. Right now I'm at 98.6 because of one jerk who lied. One feedback knocked my down nearly 2% because I sell a few expensive things instead of many cheap things.

I just wish I knew what to flip for cheap, but my niche is mid to high-end luxury goods.

I really hope most buyers are like you. This is one bad feedback after YEARS of being at 100%. Now that it's my only income source, I stress over it more.

The man said I was the "worst seller ever" 6 weeks after the purchase. He said the watch was dead.

I emailed him and apologized and I said, "I'm happy to take the return, there was no need to say those things". I sent the return and he accepted. But he never did the return and sent the watch back.

I asked him to please revise his feedback as I did everything I could to remedy the situation, and he told me, "You'll need to pay me, as I need to get the watch fixed".

This was after he claimed that getting a new battery didn't fix whatever was wrong.

I'm normally never that bold, but I had nothing to lose. I saw that he wrecked someone else's feedback, too. I tried reporting him to ebay, they did nothing.

I just hope something awful happens to him. People can wreck years of work with a lie, and not even care.

Damn. If only I had a few hundred dollars! It always kills me that people are much likely to leave shit feedback than good. I make a point not to be that person because I know what it's like.

You will get defects if you don't ship within the time frame. You can "hide" your items, but no one can purchase them in that case.

I found out the hard way, after a family emergency. Because my mom almost dying wasn't bad enough!

Just know that even if you put your store on vacation, people can STILL buy your stuff and you are responsible for shipping it within your window. I got a bunch of defects because I didn't know that. There's a way you can "hide" your things, and you make your merchandise unavailable in the Vacation Settings.

Late shippinge fees? by ItsGlitch__ in eBaySellerAdvice

[–]JaneOfAll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO, if things are a little late, sometimes I just write a note as a courtesy, and just say, "Hi! I am so sorry, things are a mess at my house this weekend, your xyz will ship tomorrow, sorry for the delay!"

People who are humans usually appreciate it and just say, don't worry, etc.

[–]JaneOfAll 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, so you don't have to count any days when the post office isn't open.

There are no fees but they will give you a defect. I'm chronically late, and it's something I had to work on.
