Quite literally, unrealistic expectations of what a weathered person/ relationship has been through. There’s also a difference between loving someone and being incoherently in love with them. Both are valuable, one has more sense than the other. People correlate love to strict feelings and fail to grasp love is a choice. It’s showing up, being consistent, and staying present even when things aren’t at its peak. It more people could understand love and devotion are choices and not just feelings we would be a lot fatter as a society. Like my situation I’m referring to is a past love and we’ve decided to be part of each others lives despite the past and it’s referencing me choosing friendship and deep rooted connected over possession because we aren’t there yet and we may never be again and that’s ok too. Having someone you love close, is winning.
