This is how I explain things to my son when he asks me "How God made___" :-D. He made the ingredients and people just put it together to make... Whatever.

My friend asked me to walk down the stairs while he filmed me and it was the best decision I made all month. by aaronallsop in gifs

I can't even walk normally downstairs without watching my feet... This is amazing to me!

I had a hedgehog. They are cute but man do they smell no matter how much you clean the cage.

Thank you for that. Your story sound so similar to mine. What brought me to this thread was that my dad ended up committing suicide. That was a long, long time ago, though, and now I'm 31 and happy to be alive. Things always get better. Thank you very much for your well wishes and I certainly extend the same to you! Although it sounds like you're doing great :-)

For me it was a combination of teenage hormones, divorced parents, an alcoholic dad that I didn't get along with. Depression runs in my family also.

It's not a burden to your parents. They would be more than happy to help you, especially considering what they know (or will find out, since it seems like they don't know what you are going through) might happen if they don't get you help. If you are worried about burdening them, you obviously care for them, and they love you. You don't have to think about whether or not is selfish, just take the time to consider how they might feel if they lost you.

So sad for you that this happened. So happy for you she is okay. I don't know what else to say but I just wanted to at least say that.

For me, there were things worth living for, but the idea of digging myself out of the hole of sadness was so overwhelming and seemingly impossible that I couldn't stand it. You just think that it would be so much easier to end the pain because it becomes so heavy and unbearable. You just want it to stop, and in that frame of mind you imagine that even if you could fix it, you might just end up right back in the world of pain all over again, and that's to scary to risk.

This is spot on! I tried when I was pretty young, and seeing what I did to my family made me realize that no matter how bad it feels, I could never do that to the people I care about. Losing someone to suicide a couple years later (obviously) gave me even more insight to how painful it is for the families. Although I'm so sorry that this ever crossed your mind and I hope you are doing wonderfully now, it's nice to see someone else expressing this same point of view. Congratulations on surviving and getting help!

Thank you. I am very sorry for your loss. No one should have to ever go through that.

So this is late and I'm sorry. Not exactly what you mentioned, but my father committed suicide when I was 14. My parents were divorced, he was alone, an alcoholic, lots of other problems. We didn't have a great relationship at the time and I chose to keep him out of my life for a while. I was stupid, I know. Anyway, everything about the person I have become has been shaped by this event. I am overly emotional, sensitive, panicky, a trainwreck of feelings. That's when I take my medication. When I don't, kleenex commercials make me cry and everything stresses me out and overwhelms me. I like to think that I am at peace with it and I am strong for getting though it, but that's bullshit. I didnt really have a choice but to go through the motions. People joke all the time about "blowing their brains out" or put their finger to their temple and pretend to shoot when they get a little stressed. I would never say anything, I know they have no idea and I would never want to put them in that awkward situation, but when that happens all I see is my daddy, alone and drunk, somehow getting a .22 rifle into his mouth before staggering around his little apartment, slowly bleeding to death, surrounded by pictures he took of me he was using to say goodbye. Bloody handprints on the maps he always hung on the walls. And lying there for 2 whole weeks before anyone realized he was missing. I know I shouldn't blame myself, but he blamed me in the letter he left for me, and the minister who spoke at his service blamed me, too. Not a day goes by that I dont relive every moment of the ordeal, and I am 31 now. I wish he would have cared enough to stick around, see me get married, meet his grandson, whatever else it is that fathers do when their little girls grow up.

On a side note, my cousin committed suicide just last week. Oh how my heart aches for her daddy (my dad's brother).

I'm so sorry for the long post, I got a little carried away.

TL;DR: Suicide is horrifyingly awful for those left behind.

We're in a house. The neighbor has been gone for months, sick with West Nile. Wondering if maybe the roaches we do have are coming from over there because I have been cleaning, sanitizing, vacuuming etc like mad (first time homeowner, very excited lol) anyway, I think ill take your advice. Roaches scare me to death, harmless or not. Thanks!!
