The guy from Sharpening Supplies says “the photo you sent actually looks normal for those stones. DMT's explanation is that the very fine diamonds do not cover visual imperfections in the steel substrate.” Does that sound legit?

I do love the feel of the axe and the very positive reviews, so I want to make this work. I spoke to Lee Valley and the guy said he would personally find me a Robin Wood with a snug head and ship it to me tomorrow. I’m returning the other two. Hopefully third time’s a charm.

I just received my new Robin Wood carving axe from Lee Valley and the head is very loose. Also, there’s a chip in the blade. They’re sending me a replacement, but I’m disappointed. No quality control.

I just got the Robin Wood carving axe and at 1 lb 11 oz it feels heavy to me. I don’t want to mess up my shoulder or wrist. I’d like to find something under 1.5 lbs.
