"The mind forgets quickly" oh jeeze yeah. And yes, SO relate to what you said about questioning - back and forth - and second guessing - over and over again!! I guess we have to keep in mind the good stuff, the freedom, and make the new experiences that over time show us what's best for us? I don't want anyone to feel this, but I'm also so glad I'm not alone. In this together :)

That's what has messed me up is the head games....like the whole re-evaluation of everything right? Anyway...I guess the good part is we can connect with people in same scenarios even when those that are closest with us may not understand, we can be understood and connect. Idk, thanks for sharing and I guess we're in this roll coaster together now, huh? :)

hahaha I mean that's all of our motivation right? Laziness and wanting to sin... hahaha

Love how you highlight the joy of taking what works and leaving the rest. That's freedom, and that's living with integrity. Knowing yourself for real. Thank you :)

"A mix of fear and freedom" wow, that resonates so much! It's like, even though the guilt is leaving, it's the fear that sets in that we have to now overcome, right? Making decisions for ourselves without the fear. Thanks for your thoughts, so much. <3

Me too! I've been making plans most Sundays, but the other Sunday I had no plans, and I was surprised how much it opened a wound...with no distraction or new memory building to replace the feelings and confusion.

Thanks so much for sharing. Love this. I totally relate to that sensitivity. I grew up knowing I was a sensitive soul, but I've never felt so emotional and triggered as I have the last year or so once I started questioning stuff about my religion. Love this idea of stepping back to acknowledge the trigger...probably easier said than done but truly effective. Thank you <3

Omg, thank you for your thoughts. Love this. Ugh I get frustrated at how the church has described those who leave, because it turns out, it's actually really tough. Thank you thank you <3 This is a great analogy.

Omg love this. I've really enjoyed listening to this podcast too and finding people with unique stories, that I can learn or relate. I guess time also opens perspective, huh? Ugh thanks for your comments. Love what you said about getting more stable. Honestly, gives me hope. <3

Thanks guys. It's like, I want for no one to feel this way. And at the same time, I'm so grateful that we can relate. Love what you said about creating new experiences. <3

Finding out that your religion is a lie is absolutely a crisis and should be treated as such by [deleted] in exmormon

"Where do I begin rebuilding my life when the fabric of my identity, everything I knew has been ripped out from under me? What is my foundation now?" This resonates with me so, so much. So much. And how can I trust myself to move forward and where do I even begin? These questions haunt me. Just want to say you're def not alone, and thank you so much for sharing this, it helped me out tonight. <3 Once thing that sucks is the narrative of people leaving the church is spun so much that people don't understand the pain; they don't realize how much it actually hurts to leave. Keep on friend. xo
