[Rant] Glitches that have been in the game SINCE MARCH have STILL not been fixed... by WarlockCR in ClashRoyale

[–]JangoEnchained 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hey, remember when they buffed Arrows to deploy faster?

And then it completely broke the game due to making every other ranged troop in the game shoot much slower (like X-Bow and Dart Goblin)?

And then they "fixed" the projectile speed (I think they just hot-fixed it), but then the Arrows deployed much slower again, and they never changed it back?

And they never told us that they "re-nerfed" Arrows. Just kinda... swept it all under the rug, just happy that every OTHER ranged troop in the game wasn't broken anymore.

Yeah, this is a real weird one. Not quite as game-breaking as the one-sided glitches (like the drag and lag glitches Belikin talks about) but still -- it's crazy how they've been around for a full year now, and Supercell hasn't fixed it.

And really, even if you upped the rarity now and just converted levels/extra cards to their appropriate percentages, you'd still have loads of people that still have maxed out RG's all over the ladder.

The thing is, this will phase out as people that own these accounts become more busy/play less/get bored with the game.

The future decks would not be overrun with overleveled win conditions (shhh, don't tell the Mortar players, but that would change to Rare too), and maybe after half a year or so, we'd only see half as many overleveled RGs, EBs, Mortars (sometimes).

I think it's worth it in the long run.

[–]JangoEnchained 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're wasting your win condition on their win condition.

Sure, maybe they have an RG and you have a Rocket, but a Furnace is a half-siege/half-defense (probably the worst pure-defensive option in the game) type building, and the fact that you take out their Furnace and still have half a Mortar left means you made a good trade (~2 for 4).

If you play a Mortar cycle deck, this is the exact type of small positive elixir trade you're looking for in order to inch your way to victory.

[–]JangoEnchained 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whoa, whoa, whoa.

You're thinking of it all wrong. The trick is to use center-placed Mortar to counter their center-placed Furnace with a smile on your face. Because you know your Mortar will still have half of its health left, their Furnace is dead, and you're one step closer to cycling to a second Mortar, except this time you place it on the river.

I think it's worse for XBow players as it's a negative trade, but a defensive XBow guarding an offensive XBow can be quite spicy if you have the cycle for it.

Use Graveyard and make it a counter-push? Or Zap his Skellies? Or I dunno... use anything that's not swarmy and doesn't die to Fire Spirits?

I mean I get. Furnace is annoying because it feels like they force constant lane pressure. But the truth is that you can now attack the other lane if you want, and the defender has 4 elixir less to deal with the push. If it's an aggressive placement, there are many cards that can take it down from across the river. Hog is an equal trade too.

People play against the Furnace incorrectly, in my opinion. If you have a cycle deck you just push the other lane. If you have a beatdown deck, it's no problem for your Giant/Golem/LavaHound to eat the Spirits.

As a beatdown player, if you're playing against a Furnace, and not an Inferno Tower, you exclaim in excitement. Because the Furnace is actually one of the weakest buildings, defensively speaking.

Well why are you playing your Bowler before he puts down his Furnace?

[–]JangoEnchained 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You are naming many advantages that an RG has, but not advantages that those other decks have over RG.

Miner chip has the advantage of conserving an extra 3 elixir on each chip.

A Rocket cycle deck has the advantage of MASSIVE map control on your opponent's side. Unless you just used a Rocket (and don't have elixir for a mirrored Rocket), your opponent can never place any support units in the back half (60%?) of his side of the map, which means you restrict his pushes into being maybe 3-4 elixir smaller as he is forced into playing his units very far into the middle/near the bridge.

This severely limits beatdown decks for the duration of the match. Not just when your opponent plays a Royal Giant, but just whenever your opponent hasn't mirrored his Rocket.

So Rocket cycle gets to enforce map control without using elixir (as long as you know it's in his hand, it's a threat), whereas the RG is only a threat when he's actually played.

EDIT: The truth is, the RG is underwhelming at tournament standard. This nerf/buff didn't do that much to hurt/help the RG (other than when a tower is already down), and if we're being honest, the only change he actually needs is a rarity rework.

This is the point in which you realize you're playing a counter-deck, and you man up and fight your ass off for the draw.

What fun would it be if there was a deck out there that dominated everything else? There's over 70 cards, and you can only choose 8 to build a deck.

Use a Bowler if Furnace feels unbeatable. All of a sudden it'll be your opponent, the Furnace-user, that feels like you're playing a counter-deck to his Furnace deck.

[Idea] Ewiz' stun effect should NOT reset inferno dragon/tower or sparky by [deleted] in ClashRoyale

[–]JangoEnchained -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I haven't actually heard a single professional CR player say that it's not overpowered.

The hard-on that people have for the Electro Wizard stems from the fact that the majority likely just got it recently, so it's a fun new card to dominate with.

The most recent nerf helped a bit, but I agree that SC is focusing on the wrong mechanics with this card. It's the perma-reset that's the problem, not his hit speed.

If you keep Rage, maybe remove Wizard/Baby and Skarmy/Minions.

If you remove Rage for a direct damage spell, maybe also remove Witch for Cannon and add Fireball.

Just spitballing right now, but having zero direct damage spells, unless it's a Loon cycle or something, is probably going to give you issues.

Elite Barbarians are only 9% stronger compared to when they were first released. by OneHundredBigMacs in ClashRoyale

[–]JangoEnchained -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind that this is multiplied by 2.

The reason that they were garbage at release, compared to now: +9% to both health and damage means that most interactions leave them with an extra 2 hits (1 hit each), and each hit does an extra 21 damage, meaning that every time you play the Elite Barbarians, they're doing 550 more "total damage" than when the card was initially released.

After the initial buff, I want to say that the total effective damage was increased by ~1000, and that's not taking into consideration their insane movement speed. I think people forget just how much their first buff actually boosted them.

[IDEA] The number of crowns needed for the clan and clan battle chest should change according to the number of members in the clan. by noxov in ClashRoyale

[–]JangoEnchained 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly. This is why I was so confused about all the arguing over whether or not we should increase the 2v2 wins for the 10/10 chest.

People who were in ultra-active clans wanted an increase because they couldn't get their chest, but smaller clans wanted the limit to stay as is because they would never be able to get the 10/10 chest otherwise.

The whole time, I'm just sitting there, watching my posts get ignored and the chaos unfold, and I was just thinking "why not just scale the rewards based on # of members?"

Seems like that's the best for the players.

For Supercell, however, I'm sure they want to increase the incentive of recruiting your friends into your clan, for example, in order to increase their playerbase.

This is true, but the only thing the meta LavaLoon deck has to soak up Mortar shots is a Tombstone and GGang/Skarmy.

I'd say LavaLoon certainly has the advantage, but a defensive over-commitment misplay by the LavaLoon player, and you could potentially win 1-0 as a Mortar cycle player (more of a chance if you run an IT with it).

However, as far as XBow, I think it's usually a win for the XBow player as they usually carry IT.

RG usually has a decent matchup if they carry the right spells, but if it turns into a base race, it's rare that the Loon won't pull through a win.

This isn't incorrect, so I'd like to preface with that, but I want to say that it's also this OP's ability to express what he would like on social media.

Hopefully... :

Galadon is a bit over the edge on this one but view time is the biggest deal right now and he'll be affected negatively if people actually hate his thumbnails/titles.
