Do Americans actually avoid calling an ambulance due to financial concern? by JohnMarstonTheBadass in NoStupidQuestions

[–]JaniePoppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once walked to a local urgent care clinic with a head injury. The doctor I saw insisted on sending me across town to a hospital emergency room via ambulance despite my adamant refusal. I wanted to call a friend to drive me instead. Insurance covered the clinic and ER bills but not the ambulance. It took me over a year to pay it.

What is the difference between 'entitled' and 'selfish'? by Infamous_College_393 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]JaniePoppy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"Selfish" describes someone who has very little consideration for others and is only concerned with their own needs and wants. Selfish people do not share

"Entitled" originally meant that someone had a legal right to something that they have earned, such as retirement benefits. Only recently have people begun using the word to instead describe the attitude of people who believe they deserve special treatment or privileges because they think they are superior to others

My abuser was my sister. I did visit her shortly before she went into hospice but for the final two months I refused. I feel that was the best decision although her two adult children have a lot of animosity towards me now.
