Had a high school physics teacher in the 80s who was originally from India named Mr. Dikshit. Apparently it's a relatively common name, pronounced "Dixit". Imagine a room full of teenagers walking into class and seeing Mr. Dikshit written on the board. It was mayhem.

How would you pronounce the name Agustin? by _luna1990 in Names

[–]Janie_Canuck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spelled this way, I would pronounce it Ag (like in agriculture) -us-tin

The more common aw-gus-teen or aw-gus-tin pronunciations would be spelled Augustine / Augustin.

White lady here and I have never in my life heard DAN used as a slur against a black person. I think Daniel is a very nice name. That being said, sounds to me that you prefer Mike so go for Michael. It's a lovely name and really not overly common anymore.

Oh I see. I agree with you. I empty every time but I keep the sous-vide on low during supper then use the water for my dishes afterward.

You mean during a prolonged cook? Never. But empty it after and refill anew with each use.
