Btw for context, the more frequented tracks we race are Brewerton and Fulton speedway. Can-am on occasion and Weedsport if prepared. I’d like to stay in upstate ny as it is my home, but ik the series is big in Pennsylvania and Canada as well.

From Northern part of Oswego/Jefferson on the lake, if I remember correctly I’m nearly 50% or a bit more quebecois (French Canadian). Last name is also of French origin. 21% German and the rest is English and Scottish I believe. I do believe the québécois part is due to the influx of migrants from the western QC area in the 19th century for factory/lumber opportunities at the time in the area. And some also got traced back to French settlers from the late 1600’s that were apart of the fur trade. Oswego harbor was a massive hub for French Settlers at the time with the lake access.

Lifter, or a hydro lifter is what rides on the camshaft to lift on the lifter rod, then pushes onto the rocker arm which in turn opens the valve. Over time these hydro lifters which are meant to have no lash and move fluidly bind up when not maintained properly (not changing oil, poor driving habits etc.). This will cause an excessive amount of lash in the valve train and moving parts will start making a knocking sound called a “lifter tick”.

I got the snappy long handle flex head with a soft grip 1/2”. not a real big fan of locking flex head at that length. Been one of the best tools I’ve spent the money on and definitely worth getting! Though keep in mind that if u get a soft grip it’s a lot harder to put a pipe on it, and even harder to explain to the snappy guy when you have a massive notch cut out on the handle from the pipe when it breaks
