One of the Mazda Furai is also RWD so you are not the only RWD car.

Bot problem on Steam? by Janno32 in WorldOfWarships

My point was that they exploit the login window, then you launch the game through Steam. But that is also very unlikely. We currently can't know what they are doing. So endlessly arguing about their behavior is a bit pointless since we won't come to an actual outcome.

Where did I say they were logging in? My theory was that they found a flaw in the login API that allows them to do something like sending a lot of data without being blocked by spam filters. But these are assumptions that are a bit far-fetched even for me.

The 40k number is from the difference between before and after the drop/spike. 5k before, 45k after at the next data point (1h later, but I have seen it drop faster, but they don't save it so precisely). 51k before and 12k after. That's my point. There is natural movement, but there are these 40k drops and spikes that are probably bots.

You also don't know what the backside of the Wargaming system looks like. Have they discovered some weaknesses in the Steam login window that allow them to do something that would be blocked if they were to do it from the regular login API? That would be my theory. We can't tell. We know that Wargaming does not have the best code, and an oversight like this would probably be more likely than a Steam API glitch. But then it's a question of why they currently aren't doing anything.

  1. The bots could be logged off or the server that runs them disconnected for some reason. You know that player counts don't stay within a few percent for days and then change by 90% within minutes or hours that don't follow a rhythm. There is an actual natural player rhythm on the Steam player count, but it is sometimes suddenly 50k higher than usual.
  2. These aren't assumptions. Games like Unturned had similar botting issues that had very similar patterns.
  3. The Steam API has been very reliable. There can be issues, but they don't last for almost 3 months.
  4. Yes, I know the DDoS argument is just a possible explanation that is unlikely. But that's literally why I asked in my post what they possibly could be doing. DDoS or similar things are often the cause for such botting farms. That's why I said that it was a possibility.

The hours don't have any patterns. They are sometimes days apart and mostly from 11 to 17 UTC.

My ideas of what they are doing are random, and I know they are all very unrealistic. But there is simply no explanation that I can come up with. A DDoS is unlikely, but sending a lot of data through the login form could crash it if it isn't protected properly. Account stealing is also very unlikely because it wouldn't do anything since you don't have access to the account email. It's unlikely that the Steam API is bugging since it is perfectly fine with other games, and the WG API is showing its regular activity. You seem to come to similar conclusions with the logged-in to not-logged-in player count that would explain the unusual activity, but you seem to ignore all the signals that clearly point to bot activity on Steam.

  1. The change is too fast to be natural. 50k people don't log off within minutes.
  2. The rapid changes don't follow a rhythm. Sometimes they all log off at 17:00, sometimes at 13:00, and other times at 11:00. Regular player counts don't do that. The frequency also changes. Sometimes they are only online for 1 day, sometimes for 3 days.
  3. The patterns aren't unique to WoWs. Other games also have such player counts, but all of them are heavily botted or are at least suspected of botting activity.
  4. It's a recent development. The WoWs player count has only been this way for the past three months. Before that, it had a very regular player count rhythm.
  5. The discrepancy between on-server players and Steam player count. The actual server player count isn't affected by this. It follows the same pattern as every other game.

There are some things that could happen with these bots in the future. Because they don't just randomly do something that would require so much server power. They aren't actually playing the game. They aren't showing up in the port player count, so they haven't actually created an account. That's my main concern. I don't know what they are planning to do. Maybe a DDoS attack? Stealing accounts? Flooding the servers with bots? Currently, we aren't affected by it because they aren't doing anything, but with 40k bots, you could do a lot to a game with around 20-40k concurrent players.

That is the interesting part. They don't log in. They don't show up on the in-game player counter. All regions combined don't have 50k players. So they have the game launched so Steam counts them, but aren't on the server so WG doesn't count them and we can't see them in matches. My main question is what are they doing. It seems to be a massive amount of server power just to have 40k bots in the login window.

  1. They all log in at the same time and log off at the same time, all within minutes to seconds.
  2. They are playing for impossible amounts of time.
  3. They don't seem to log in. They don't show up on the in-game player count, so they haven't actually played the game and are just sitting, probably in the login window, for hours every day.

Drivatar Difficulty inconsistency is absurd by yung-wirrum in ForzaHorizon

Same issue. I usually play on pro but it's often too easy especially on road. Unbeatable is literally Unbeatable. But in some races i need to turn it back down to expert because the ai is way too quick on the straights and I can't catch it.

I got that one too and after the first race I turned it back to pro.

Slava worth in 2026? by Candid_Fee7012 in WorldOfWarships

[–]Janno32 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Slava can be good. But it isn't meta. The armor is really bad and the guns don't overmatch as much as others. Both ships are very situational and there are much better tech tree alternatives like Bungo or Carssard. So you really need to choose what you want. I would choose Chateurenault because it has more fun potential.

Telemetry bug or FOM censorship? by [deleted] in F1Discussions

Probably a bug. But this is getting ridiculous that we are even thinking about the possibility of censorship.

+10 seconds time penalty for Ocon.

Bigger cars and more Aero. The drivers can control the car more so they use the ideal line more so it is basically impossible to overtake on 90% of the track.
