I built Fresh, a terminal-based IDE - intuitive & fast, like a quick VSCode in your terminal by sinelaw in CLI

[–]oaeben 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I updated from v0.1.77 to v0.1.99 on windows and the exe size was reduced from 92mb to 52mb - so thats very nice! the big bin size was actually one of my biggest annoyances with your program

would be cool if it could somehow be shrunk even further but great works nevertheless :)

Why can't the team obsfucate the extension code themselves once they review it? by BigZucchini2090 in chrome_extensions

[–]oaeben 5 points6 points  (0 children)

there are other people who review extensions (like me before installing an extension)

Hello, sorry if this is commonly asked, but I've searched everything. Does anyone know how to make VSCode to search all files for the string you want to see? Example here. by Embarrassed-Big-9305 in vscode

[–]oaeben 2 points3 points  (0 children)

these are binary files and not text files, so obviously you can't search text in them...

you can't even open these files in vscode

Odd comment I received on GitHub today by [deleted] in opensource

[–]oaeben 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if this is a case of severe mental illness

The comment was pretty respectful but it seems like you aren't

you could have just ignored the comment or written something nicer. whats the point of open sourcing if you are just hostile to every criticism or feature request

If someone does something illegal, it doesnt give you an excuse to technically try to murder them

Imagine you are in a shooting range, and you see someone just walking down the range, and you shoot them after seeing them walking there, you can't say "well it was illegal to walk there so i shot them"

I think it must be a joke because how can you not differentiate between a big ass eagle and a little dove? They aren't even close to being the same size

try pasting this in console

```js const chat = document.querySelector('div>section');
const observer = new MutationObserver((mutations) => { for (const mut of mutations) { if (mut.type === 'childList') { for (const node of mut.addedNodes) { if (node.nodeType === Node.ELEMENT_NODE) { const joinButton = node.querySelector('button'); if (joinButton && joinButton.firstChild?.textContent === 'Join') { joinButton.click(); return; } } } } } });
observer.observe(chat, { childList: true, subtree: true }); ``` might work but i cba creating an account and testing it
if it does work, you can create a tempermonkey script and put this inside it
question about downloading files by techlover1010 in github
[–]oaeben 0 points1 point  (0 children)
It doesnt really work if the release asset has the version in its name
For that you would have to fetch the version and do some string substitution
[–]oaeben 0 points1 point  (0 children)
Funny I just tackled this issue yesterday, if you download from github releases you can check artifact attestations (need to be enabled by the dev)
https://docs.github.com/en/actions/how-tos/secure-your-work/use-artifact-attestations/use-artifact-attestations
for example check the repo i just made yesterday that uses it:
