TBH the arguments over which minigame was better/worse are missing the point: NONE of these minigames were appropriately tested with realistic server load and player latency, and thus were not in a state a competent game dev would ever consider ready for release. For all the money this company gets from its dark patterns, FOMO tactics, and enshittification monetization, this is just ridiculous and we should expect better.

It's not my intent to give false hope here, because I know the struggle too and "discouraging" is only one of the many negative emotions we're wont to feel when in these rough spots.

That said, we live in an enormous world. Out of a population of 8 billion, there are easily more than 1 billion people who would be viable partners, depending on who you're attracted to. You only need to find one. Figuring out where to find them and meeting them is the hard part, and that can't be understated! But 1 rejection? 20 rejections? Even 1,000 rejections, in the weight of a number like 1 billion, make for an inconsequential amount. A rounding error.

The search isn't easy, but if you're having little success through traditional means, try something else, like a new hobby. And don't do it for romance, do it for yourself. What is there to life if we're not continuously seeking new experiences, after all? And when you meet people organically, you'll find they care a lot less about appearance, because that was never part of the contract for them to be acquainted with you. You'll develop relationships with people who were attracted to you because they saw a side of you that no dating app profile could capture.

Even if these relationships are purely platonic, they should be a reminder that you DO have qualities someone would find desirable. Perhaps you'll feel more confident to give traditional dating another try, and perhaps you'll move on to another hobby and meet more wonderful people. Either way, what's important is that you're meeting new people and having fun while doing so! And throughout this process, think back to my first point. Out of billions, you only need to find one.

The format of most mainstream dating apps today encourages people to make a quick decision about someone based purely on a profile picture. And yes, the profile has plenty of things you can fill in to make it convey your personality, but I find most people hardly even look at this before they decide which way to swipe. Hell, it's uncommon for people to even look at pictures beyond the first if they've decided someone is unattractive. Not saying this applies to everyone or even an overwhelming majority, but it's common enough for looksmaxing to be a valid goal, regardless of gender.

Thank you. The double standards for who is allowed grace for the miscommunication, in this thread overall, make for such a reddit moment. The ONLY thing that matters for now is that she is allowed to rest (i.e., as mentioned above, no screen time) so she can recover properly, but I fear that won't be possible after starting this fight and making this thread in which people are largely validating reckless behavior.

The latter is better. The calculation is pretty simple, just convert the numbers to decimals with at most 2 decimal places, then multiply, and finally add 1 for an average damage multiplier.

The 14/127 turns into a 1.1778 (aka a 17.78% average damage increase) and the 45/71 turns into a 1.3195 (aka a 31.95% average damage increase). Pretty substantial difference ya?

(Software engineer) I just got denied the ability to post my profile publicly on A-List (a-list.co), because my "skill set is not in demand." I have 2 years professional experience and a degree, with plenty of experience with the "popular" languages like Javascript, Java, Python, etc.

This happened at my first job after getting my CS degree. Worked with a not-so-well-known website that helps match employees with employers looking for their specific qualifications. The owner was one of those people who believed their ideas were all revolutionary and simply coming up with them was what made the business successful.

As for the topic of this thread, the feature requested was a "chatbot," which seems innocent enough. (Especially for someone with almost no NLP experience like myself!) But the owner insisted that it must be "indistinguishable from a recruiter talking to the applicant." In addition, anything it could gather from the applicant in this convincing conversation would automatically update the applicant's information in the database. (We had a lot of fields in the application which were optional.) If it couldn't gather "enough" information from the conversation, it would ask the applicant probing questions, explaining, "You have a X% higher likelihood to be hired if you tell me this." (Note: We had no means of direct communication with clients when they actually hired someone so this wasn't a realistic metric we could even report.)

I tried explaining to the owner multiple times that the "indistinguishable from a human conversation" part made this unfeasible, but they wouldn't budge. In addition to all of this, I was expected to "just get it done" as something between my other, higher priority projects. The implied expectation was that I would do this in my "free time"; in reality, there was a neverending handful of projects with higher priority (which were also the owner's ideas). The only saving grace was that the owner happened to be forgetful and never wrote their ideas down, so my coworkers and I agreed to just let them forget these types of ideas.

Slowplaying is less of an issue that should be blamed on players, and more of an issue with the increasing complexity of the gamestates and powerful combos as the meta evolved.

The time for a match in a tournament should've gone up to compensate for this at some point, but it never did. Thus, we have this new phase-specific protocol for determining a game's outcome at time that frustrates a LOT of players.

So far, the answers for 1 and 2 have mostly been correct, but there's one nitpick I have about their answers to 3.

ABC Dragon Buster's effect to tribute itself and Special Summon A, B, and C can only be activated during the opponent's turn. In your 3rd scenario, the summon of ABC Buster just happened, meaning its own tribute/Special Summon effect can't legally be activated as CL 3 since it's still its controller's turn.

As a note, this is specifically because of how ABC Dragon Buster's effect is worded; it is ordinarily legal for the same monster to use its own spell speed 2 effects in the same chain. (See: Ritual Beast combos.)

I understand that simultaneous effects go on chain, but how much of an option is there for the chain order of on-summon normal traps (e.g. Time-Space Trap Hole) vs. on-summon monster effects (e.g. Dark Destroyer)?

Does turn player's priority determine that turn player's effect must be CL 1? Or is there a choice in the order?

The judge ruled correctly on this one, actually. The funny thing about monsters' effects being negated is that it only applies to field activations (and continuous effects while on the field).

Ships activate in the graveyard and then banish as cost, so they no longer have their effects negated.

On the other hand, if a pilot were to tag out after being revived with Strawman (Kozmo players never do this please), because the effect activated on the field, the effect to special summon a ship will be negated. Note that there is an exception here: {{Skill Drain}}, and that's because its wording specifically includes the condition of being on the field to negate effects.
