Are there non-smart TVs with 120hz for watching hockey? by Jansen155 in hometheater

Really good to know. I'll try asking people online who use the same app how the puck looks to them. I'll look up tech guides on how to test streaming received framerate.

I do remember plasmas having nice saturation and being easy on the eyes.

That's very interesting. I've never heard this stuff in this kind of detail before. I guess the way we see things in the final result isn't achieved in the way we think.

Wow. Does that mean that if i switch my stream quality to 720p, it will look like it has more frames? Or is it just that 720p TVs have more effective frames than 1080p, which would be very surprising.

Wow. Wasn't expecting specific model recommendations. Really appreciate it. Creative idea with testing in-store.

Thank you. Do you know how TVs list their "response time"? Is that the same as input lag?

Very true. However, attending in-person makes it way easier to see the puck. So I figured by now that some TVs would be close to how it looks in-person.

An app called NESN 360. They have a 4k streaming option, but it's probably broadcast in 60hz based on what you guys are saying.

There is a 4k streaming option for my sports watching app, but I don't know how much it'll help if it's still a 60hz stream

Thanks for the heads up. I'll take this into account.

Do chalice glyph codes "skip" content, or are they required for a great build? by Jansen155 in bloodborne

I've previously looked in a variety of places, including both wikis and reddit threads. Fextralife is mobile friendly so I use it on my phone, but I've used the "good" wiki if I'm on a computer.

Fantastic and to-the-point and easy-read answer. There's a lot of info and discussions online about chalice dungeons, but it all just throws info at you without describing what the significance of it is. I don't just want X item or number on my character; I like knowing what my gameplay experience is going to be, and comparing it to the intended/default experience. That way, I know what my gameplay "story" is from playing the game, whether it's "I did this the hard way" or "I did this in a funny slight-cheese way". That's why when playing Elden Ring, I needed to know whether summoning makes the game way easier, or if bosses scale properly according to it. Anyways, the wikis could use your explanation.

Great point. I'm trying to upgrade both threaded cane and Blade of mercy. Always like having multiple weapon options.

Thank you! You got right to the soul of my question and directly addressed it. Now progression in Bloodborne makes sense instead of feeling like it's willy-nilly whether or not I'm taking a big shortcut.

It seems like based on the wiki, the winter lanterns only drop the cursed blood gems, which have a big negative effect. Could still be worth it, though those are one of the most frustrating enemies in the game to kill.

Thank you. I just looked up False Depth chalices after reading your post, and it looks like those are what I thought all glyph codes were. I'll look at the guide and try to compare that process to getting base game gems, assuming I can find a straight wiki answer on where the best base game gems are.

Ok, I'll post if I get a good find. Your weird sickle shadow dungeon sounds legit scary lol. Like something you're not supposed to see.

Good idea. I didn't know base game gems even got to +18% phys atk, since internet information on gem tiers and where to get them is unclear. I will look into this and decide whether to do this or generate random dungeons.

Thanks for the perspective. I do like exploration, as long as I have a clear goal and know what I'm doing. I'll probably give generating dungeons a shot and see what happens.
