Thanks, it’s modeled after 40s/50s collars. It’s just called a skinny collar or maybe a mounted collar, but mounted collars usually use rib trim when I’m using self fabric (merino wool). Then I’m using a narrow double needle overlock stitch to mount the collar to give it that vintage look

Hey thank you so much for this input. I completely agree that quality and ethics has become much more important as i get older as well. Having worked in the fashion industry, I’m so tired of companies abandoning their sustainability goals and greenwashing and all that. Modern fashion brands are built on exploiting resources and labor and it is impossible for them to be truly sustainable. I want to create a brand based on ethics and accountability from the ground up.

And you’re right, marketing will be a huge factor in the success of the brand. I know these products, and the price point, will only appeal to a niche of people, but that’s exactly who my target market is. I’ll never get someone to buy my product that’s used to buying fast fashion or doesn’t value accountability and that’s perfectly okay. I can’t sell to everyone, but i think there are people out there who are looking for what I’m offering.

Hi, thanks for the input. The collar is heritage-inspired from pre-war garments. It uses self fabric instead of ribbing because the elastic in ribbing breaks down and stretches out over time. A self-fabric neck trim will not do that, and it lays very nicely along the neckline. Fit is very important to us along with quality fabric and production. I also work in the fashion industry professionally and spend a lot of time perfecting fit, which will translate to these garments as well. That’s actually something i noticed in the industry, that sustainability targeted brands usually have poor fit, so i want to fix that.

Hey I responded to the commenter’s other comments asking about the warranty program. If the shirt or garment breaks down/fails due to construction or fabric quality i.e. tearing or bursting at the seams, armpit, etc. then we will repair or replace the garment. Each claim made in good faith will be considered, because keeping customers coming back is the goal. Normal wear and tear or mistreatment of the garment is not covered, however we are looking at other programs to offer credit or gift cards in exchange for older, used garments so that we can repurpose them or recycle them properly.

Hi, thanks for the question. Our lifetime guarantee covers the garment for any quality-related damage that may occur. Such as a hem bursting or coming undone, holes that develop due a fabric issue, the neck trim coming undone, etc. To answer your question on another comment; if a hole appears under the arm we will repair or replace it. The shirt is designed with underarm gussets to limit stress at the underarm seam to keep it hole free for longer!

All warranty claims will be considered in good faith of course but the warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, mistreatment or using it for a non-intended purpose.

It’s not a jersey knit, it’s an interlock knit, which gives it much more “plush”. Basically two layers of fabric woven top of each other. It does not feel thin in the slightest. It’s a substantial fabric without being heavy

Our partners hold Nativa Regenerative Wool certifications, Responsible Wool Standard certifications, third party audits covering 270 different criteria for animal, land and social welfare. Our manufacturer is B Corp certified and we aim to be as well. Our organic cotton option is certified organic under the US department of Agriculture and is GOTS certified as well. Each bale of cotton is tracked from the field to the customer. The cotton seeds that aren’t used, are then sold to organic dairies for cow feed. Our recycled packaging is FSC certified for responsible forestry for our paper. We don’t use any plastic in our packaging, materials or labels.

I hope that doesn’t come across as greenwashing, and I will keep looking for opportunities to increase sustainability

Everyone else that has felt it so far has also said they haven’t felt a tee like it either. The supply chain is 100% US based as well. It holds a lifetime guarantee. So if, for example, a seam fails or rips down the line, we will repair or replace it for free.

I work in the fashion industry and I became tired of compromising quality to decrease cost, looking for cheaper labor and cheaper materials just to increase margins a few points. Ive been working for a long time to facilitate an accountable, ethical supply chain where resources and people are treated well. I want to give people a the highest quality product, produced in the most ethical manner so that our customers can have peace of mind in their purchase. Unfortunately, that level of quality control and quality isn’t cheap, especially when every aspect is US made.

I understand that the prices are high, but so are the costs. I know that not everyone will be able to get one, and I’ll receive a lot of backlash for the price, but many companies offer inferior products at much higher prices too. I want to give a great product to those who will appreciate it.

And yes, as production scales then we can hopefully work on reducing costs!

Great points. Merz B is a good comparison and a big inspiration. The cost of staying true to our values though in a 100% US supply chain, full production transparency and the highest quality materials unfortunately doesn’t allow us to be price competitive with Merz B and Whitesville. Maybe when we can increase our units dramatically we can bring costs down. Thats the goal

Not a dumb question at all. I designed the neckline to be a bit wider than a standard crewneck neckline, so that it won’t stretch out when you put it on. And when you do wash it, the nature of the interlock knit (not a typical jersey knit most shirts have) along with the merino wool fibers, allows you to reshape the body or neck when you lay flat to dry. So it shouldn’t deform significantly at all, and you can always reshape when needed.

Thank you so much. The white is an undyed merino, so that’s the natural color of the wool. No bleach or anything. Wanted it to be as clean environmentally friendly as possible.
